The material of auto car manufacture trends to high strength steel. However, with the enhancement of mechanical strength, the blank's formability was dramatically. It became difficult to apply the traditional cold stamping technology into the field of forming of high strength steel. A new complicated technology called hot stamping has been used into shaping the high strength steel. At the mean time, the application of metal formed simulation based on the finite element analysis (FEA) is developing rapidly. We can use the numerical simulation software to predict the procedure of metal forming. With the results of simulation, we can optimize the forming process to promote the efficiency of manufacture. As the essential part of chassis in auto car framework, the axle housings plays an important part in controlling the quality of auto car. When the trend of automotive light weighting industry is more and more popular, the application of hot stamping in axle housings production is to follow up. The research in axle housings hot stamping has been put emphasis on.The paper made use of theory analysis and experiment research to study the process of axle housings hot stamping. In the basis of generalizing the theory of blank deformation and the analysis of thermodynamics, we confirmed the machining of production of flaws in AOR axle housings hot stamping process. With the analysis of deformation of axle housings blank, the contribution of blank's deformations stress and temperature have been got. Then the best parameters in hot stamping process were obtained. At that time we have got our analysis destination.In the thesis, we got the chief factors affecting the axle housings forming process on the basis of analyzing the characteristic of hot stamping. The chief factors are the following, such as stamping temperature, friction conditions and stamping velocity. The above all analysis has been the basis of numerical simulations.We used the finite element analysis software named MSC.Marc to simulate the process of typical axle housings deformation. First of all, the finite element mold of axle housings and the molding die were established. Secondly, we chose the appropriate parameter of hot stamping to make use in simulation according to the material of blank and stamping conditions. At last, the type of numerical simulation was set up as thermodynamic coupled. The whole simulation program of typical axle housings hot stamping was completed at that moment. We paid more attention of the effect of three chief factors and deformation contribution of the blank. In the end, we optimized the parameter of hot stamping process.Finally we made experiments of AOR axle housings hot stamping in the way of optimized parameters. The results of experiments indicated that the optimized parameters were perfect in the deformation of axle housings. The grain size in axle housings component was minimized in some part and the mechanical performance of workpieces was improved better.
