Part I Role of aquaporin and ion channel on pleural liquid transportA. Research on the pleural fluid transport experimental methodObjective To investigate the experimental method on pleural fluid transport. Methods Mice were briefly anesthetized, isosmolar or hyperosmolar solution were instilled into the mice pleural space. In different time point, the pleural liquid were collected for osmolality, volume and 125I-album radio activity measuring.Result The pleura can absorb the album. After hyperosmolar fluid were instilled into the pleural space, the volume of the effusion increased firstly, then decreased, but the osmolality decreased gradually at the whole course. After isosmolar liquid were instilled, the osmolality changed not significantly, but the volume gradually decreased all the time. Conclusion This method can be used to research pleural fluid transport in mice. The change of osmolality can reflect the course of osmotic fluid transport in mice pleural space. The change of volume can indicate the course of isosmolar pleural fluid absorption.
