Objective: To establish a chronic animal model of bile secretion. Method:In healthy Wistar rats, the common bile duct was transected, with inserted into the long-terminal of a silica gel "T" tube of O =0.8 mm in the proximal end, the other long-terminal of the "T"tube insert into the jejunum. A hypo tunnel established, leading out the main portion of the "T" tube. Thus a rat obstructive jaundice model with bile drainage was established. The biochemical parameters and BM change of the first week after operation of control group, sham operation group and model group were determined. Results: No change was found in the biochemical indicater and BM change of the first week after operation of control group, sham operation group and model group. Conclusion: A rat bile duct internal and external drainage model was successfully established. The model provides a simple and reproducible study platform for obstructive jaundice, to observe the effect of medicine on bile secretion and also a reliable pathway for the detection of concentration of some medicine in bile.
