Objective To investigate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MBS) and its components, and to analyze the characteristic of its related risk factors in Uygur, Kazak, Mongolians , Han adults (≥30years) of BOERTALA region of xinjiang, and to investigate the separate impact and additive effects of Trp64Arg polymorphism of β3-adrenergic receptor gene and Pro 12Ala polymorphism of peroxisome proliferators activated receptor-γ2 gene(PPAR- γ2) in the pathogenesis of alone morbid obesity and metabolic syndrome(MBS) in Kazak ethnic population. Methods By sampling survey with cluster sampling, 1000 subjects respectively in Uygur, Kazak Mongolians, Han adults were planed to attend the hypertension epidemiology in BOERTALA region. Total 3700 subjects, including 900 Uygur, 1000 Kazak, 800 Mongolians, 1000 Han, were surveyed. 3300 subjects with complete laboratory data were gathered for analysis the prevalence of MBS diagnosed respectively according to the criteria of International Diabetes Federation (IDF), NCEP-ATPIII and Chinese diabetes association. The characteristic of related risk factors of MBS diagnosed according to the criterion of IDF was analyzed by non-conditional logistic regression. PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism was used to detect the genotypes of β3-adrenergic receptor and peroxisome proliferators-activated receptor-γ2 genes for the three groups, the metabolic syndrome, alone morbid obesity and controls, in Kazak ethnic population. The association of the polymorphisms of β3-adrenergic receptor and peroxisome proliferators activated receptor γ2 genes with alone morbid obesity and MBS was...
