Substrains with low heterogeneity and different metastatic potentials were isolated and selected from the mouse forestomach carcinoma cell line( MFC) by limited dilution. The substrains with different spontaneous lung metastatic rates were eventually identified as MFC-A₆,60%; MFC-A₂, 13.3%; MFC-B₃, 0% and MFC-B₅, 0%.
