This paper mainly concerned about the basic research and technical resolution of electrical impedance tomography (EIT). The main works include following three parts: First, measurement of bio-tissue complex impedance spectra; Second, the research on reconstruction algorithm electrical impedance tomography; Third, systematic research on real-time electrical impedance tomography.Back ground and objectiveEIT is a new medical imaging modality which is invasive, low cost, and able to get functional image. By imposing harmless drive currents on the body surface and measuring the responded voltage on the body surface, the relationship of driven and responded signal was developed by using reconstruction algorithm of EIT, from which the distribution of impedance or its variation can be delivered. In this paper a real-time EIT system was implemented for the first time in China. Many preliminary results includes physical impedance distribution modal, tissue and organ in vitro were presented to identify the potential value of EIT in clinical diagnosis.The complex impedance of bio-tissue varies with the frequency of driven current change. For different tissue, these variations were very different. This characteristic of bio-tissue was called impedance spectra.
