| Objective: To study the theoretical basis of 64-slice CT in skeleton , including the effect of scanning and post-processing parameters to the imaging quality of bone by 64-slice CT, and find out the best scanning and post-processing parameters. Materials and methods: Different parameters of scanning and post-processing were used to obtain direct-scanning transverse image , post-processing transverse and longitudinal MPR images and VR images of 300 patients. The quality of all the images was valued and compared, the scores given were analyzed statically. Results: To long bone CT images, the parameters that consist of a smaller slice-thickness with a larger pitch is better than that of a larger slice-thickness with a smaller pitch. The best post-processing parameters for direct scanning images and MPR images are slice thickness 0.6mm, pitch 1.5, reconstruction increment 50%, high-resolution algorithm. For VR images, soft tissue algorithm is remarkly better than high-resolution algorithm. Conclusion: The qualities of long bone CT images can be greatly influenced by scanning and post-processing parameters and the above best parameters make it reality to get isotropic and best long bone images in the shortest time with the least X-ray tube exhaustion by 64-slice CT. |
