Objective: To approach the distributed rule of syndrome epidemiology of TCM and influential factors about MCI. Methods: Through the methods of clinical epidemiology and study of measuring scale, many aspects of MCI were deeply investigated, such as the concept, influential factors, common signs and symptoms, the basic syndrome diagnostic criteria of TCM and developing rule by some means as follows: review of literature, consultation with experts, formulation of questionnaire, investigation of clinical epidemiology, excavation and analysis of numerical data. Results: The investigative questionnaire about MCI of clinical syndrome epidemiologic survey of TCM was formulated. And by large sample survey, the questionnaire was found to have good reliability, validity and reactive efficiency. It had been revealed by observation that the main influential factors of MCI were gender, educational background, marriage, appetite for smoke and wine and the conditions of participating in social activities. The main signs and symptoms of MCI were ecmnesia, lightheadedness, tinnitus, anterograte amnesia, insomnia, dizziness, epicophosis, frequent micturition at night, xerostomia and sausarism; pale tongue, reddish tongue, purplish and dark tongue with petechiae, the fatness of body of tongue with indentation, thin and whitish fur, scanty fur; taut and thready pulse, thready and rapid pulse, thready and unsmooth pulse, thready and weak pulse and taut pulse. And the common syndrome patterns of MCI were deficiency of liver and kidney yin, phlegm coating spirit qiao, atrophy of brain and empty of sui, stagnation by blood stasis and deficiency of qi and blood. In addition, 5 syndrome models of discriminatory analysis were established by the method of stepwise regression of Logistic and the predictability of every model was good. The negativity correlation between common syndromes of MCI and simple spirit measuring scale was observed, and the negativity influence of some pathological factors on intelligence had been proved, such as the deficiency of kidney, phlegm and blood stasis. Conclusion: The most frequent syndrome of MCI is deficiency of liver and kidney yin and the main influential factors of MCI are gender, educational background, marriage, appetite for smoke and wine and the conditions of participating in social activities.
