| Objective Homeobox genes is a highly conservative gene family which plays an important role in the development of organism.Homeobox genes are very important for the regulation of development and differentiation in both embryo and adult tissures. The abnormity of its regulation will lead to abnormity of individual development and organogenesis, sometimes even lead to carcinogenesis.NKX3.1 is a newly found,androgen-regulated prostate-specific homeobox gene.It may play an important role in the development, differentiation and carcinogenesis of prostate. This study aims to explore the expression profile of NKX3.1 in prostate tissures of different ages and in benign and malignant prostate tissures. The role of NKX3.1 in LNCaP cell line is also be researched. Methods Immunohistochemistry and real time PCR were carried out to detect the the expression profile of NKX3.1 in prostate tissures of different ages in terms of protein and mRNA respectively. The expression of NKX3.1 in prostate cancer specimens was detected by immunohistochemistry. Inhibition of NKX3.1 in LNCaP by RNAi was accessed by real time PCR and western... |
