This paper studied on Lung Qirui’s ancient Chinese phonology by Lung Qirui’s GU YUN TUNG SHUO has three directions; one is evaluation of Lung’s ShuangSheng theory. One is comments on Lung’s classification of ancient Chinese rhyme, tone of ancient Chinese rhyme and RuSheng rhyme. The other one is about Lung’s practice on articulation of ancient Chinese rhyme.The paper is divided into nine parts. The forward portrays significance of the issue, research method, research material, former studies.on Lung’s ancient Chinese phonology, and portrays expected results of the research. Chapter two is about Lung’s academic background of his ancient Chinese phonology and the constituents of GU YUN TUNG SHUO.Chapter three studies ancient Chinese rhyme sorts, tones theory and TungZhuang of GU YUN TUNG SHUO. In ancient Chinese rhyme sorts, the paper comments the rules of dividing, denominating and the the sequence. The second section researches Lung’s basis for distinguish TungYun from ZhangYin. The final section makes comments on Lung’s tones opinions.Chapter four and five introduces and comments Lung’s ancient Chinese phonology issues of individual ancient Chinese sort. In chapter six we comprehend what Lung’s ShuangSheng is and offer the similarity relation between Lung’s ShuangSheng and Wang’s lexical diffusion theory. Chapter seven discusses which ancient Chinese sort some pictophonetic characters character should belong in, and then shows Lung’s features of delimiting pictophonetic characters character.Chapter eight indicates how Lung Qirui described the pronunciation of ancient Chinese rhyme sort and makes a comment in Lung’s description about the pronunciation. The final chapter consists the evaluation of Lung Qirui, his achievement and insufficiency. His achievements are proposing the rules of denominating ancient Chinese rhyme sorts, proposing ancient Chinese tone’s developing was no difference become four kinds, proffering RuSheng rhyme is not only a grade of rhyme but also a grade of tone, proffering a conception that a word in ancient Chinese age is not sure a voice, making description about the pronunciation of some two ancient Chinese rhyme sorts relatively. As for Lung’s insufficiency, no Ji(祭部)rhyme sort, combining Qi(缉部)rhyme sort with Ye(叶部)rhyme sort, the description about the pronunciation of Yu(鱼部)rhyme sort is not low vowel, having deficiencies in some rhyming situation, RuSheng rhyme evolved from QuSheng rhyme.
