A lot of historical data is produced in land management, but how to manage this data, which is increasing steadily, is still a challenge in GIS/LIS. Modeling, querying and displaying land parcels' changes needs an appropriate spatial-temporal model. Based on analysis of space and time concepts and object-oriented technology, this thesis mainly addresses two issues, i.e., the development of an Object-Oriented spatio-temporal conceptual model and the modeling of parcel and urban cadastral changes. The main content of this thesis includes the follows: The fundamental concepts of spatial-temporal conceptual model are discussing. Firstly, the thesis deals with the fundamental constituents of spatial -temporal data modeling by summarizing the concepts pertaining to space, time, space-time, similarities and differences between space and time. Secondly, combining spatial conceptual model, four kinds of spatial -temporal conceptual model are put forward based on time conceptual models. Finally, spatial relations, temporal relations, a representation of relations in temporal space are discussing. An Object-Oriented SpatialTemporalAttribute Conceptual Model is developed. Firstly, the sorts of spatial-temporal data model are described, and the advantage and limitations of existing spatial -temporal data models are reviewed, and the advantages of Object-Oriented spatial-temporal data model are developed. Secondly, the object-oriented spatial-temporal conceptual model has been devised in UML (unified modeling language) by aggregating the three components of reality, i.e., space, time and attribute (each is considered as a class). Finally, spatial-temporal constraints and operations are discussing. An Object-Oriented Cadastral Spatial-Temporal-Attribute Conceptual Model is developed. Firstly, the temporal characteristics of land and cadastre are described. Each object in cadastral domain is analyzed based on object-oriented method. There are a lot of STAOs and non-STAOs in cadastral domain. Secondly, extending OOSTACM to cadastral domain develops an Object-Oriented Cadastral Spatial-Temporal-Attribute Conceptual Model. Thirdly, the relations of cadastral objects and the spatial-temporal changes of land parcel are analyzed. A cadastral spatial-temporal logical data model is designed. Firstly, the disignning rules of spatial-temporal logical data model are developed based on computer theory and spatial-temporal data characteristics, which gives the designning of cadastral spatial-temporal logical data model a standard. Secondly, combing cadastral management with OOCSTACM, using extending space-time composite model and object-relation spatial data model, using time as parcels' attribute, designs a cadastral logical cadastral data model. Thirdly, the cadastral spatial-temporal operations are studied on this model.
