Under the guidance of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory, TCM treatment in Lupus Nephritis (LN) was studied horizontally and vertically. The paper was divided in three parts:Partâ… :The name of LN in ancient TCM literatures was explored. LN was a name of modern medicine, which could not be found in ancient literature but only with some similar symptoms. Since the condition of LN is complicated, it is difficult to define one TCM name of LN. The name should be determined by the term, evolvement and clinical manifestation.Partâ…¡:The etiology and pathogenesis of LN was discussed thoroughly. Although the clinical manifestation of LN is variable and complicated, the basic pathogenesis is still regular. It was concluded in this paper that the etiology and pathogenesis of LN could be divided in two parts:1) kidney-yin deficiency is the Ben of LN; 2) retaining of stagnant toxin is the Biao of LN.Part III:Clinical research of LN. To emphasize the distinguishing feature of TCM's treatment determination based on syndrome differentiation, the TCM treatment of LN was studied in horizontal and vertical directions, respectively:(1) Collecting the 40 LN patients in our hospital in these two years as samples, the distributive regulation of TCM symptom-sign and the correlations between TCM symptom-sign, clinical classes and some index tests were studied by the means of statistics methods. There are some relationships between TCM symptom-sign and term, LN activities, as well as 24-hour proteinuria value. There is no relationship between TCM symptom-sign with complement, Anti-nuclear antibody, anti-double strand DNA antibody or anti-Sm antibody. (2) Based on the 40 LN patients described above as samples, the efficiency of TCM treatment in LN was studied by the means of statistics methods. The treatment experience of supervisor was also discussed. How the supervisor grasp the LN from aspects of the whole and the part, differentiation of syndromes and diseases, macroscopic and microcosmic were also studied, as well as the analysis of the characteristic of TCM treatment. |
