| Influenza is a acute viral disease of the respiratory tract. It falls into the categories of "epidemic febrile disease" "fever due to exopathy" etc. in TCM. Treating influenza with TCM shows marked efficacy in dealing with symptoms and improving prognosis, which is believed to be an important way for the prevention and treatment of influenza. However, according to the variations of the body constitution and series of the disease., how to improve the effectiveness become a problem while treating with Chinese herbals. At the beginning, this article retrospectively has given us a glimpse into several studies which include making analyses of the development of therapy for external syndrome due to exopathy, discussion of hiding qi resulting in epidemic febrile disease, immunological mechanism of influenza, and experimental development of TCM. The author explains a new theory presented by professor Jiang jianguo that constitution with endogenous heat is one contributing factor.( this type of constitution is marked by feverish sensation in the soles and palms, reddish lip, swollen throat, dry stool, reddish tongue and yellowish tongue fur) on the basis of hiding qi responsible for the occurrence of disease, combined with manifestations and pathology of influenza. In the theoretical discussion part, constitution with endogenous heat is considered to be one endopathogen in accordance with characteristics of constitution of northern and patient with recurrent attacking. Patients with endogenous heat are vulnerable to recurrent infection which causes invasion of hiding heat into nutrient phrase, showing some characteristics of wind-heat type at its primary stage. But it runs a long course and can not be curative with drugs, which is quite different from common exopathy. The theoretical principle is to expel the pathogenic exterior and interior of the body, therapeutic method is to relieve exterior syndrome with pungent and cool herbals, accompanied with clearing up the ying system by removing heat from the blood. Qingying Jiebiao Heji contains shuanghua lianqiao baiwei shengdi maidong jingjie fangfeng chaonuzi. In the part of experiment, we study the Qingying Jiebiao Heji's influence on the immunology mechanism that Influenza virus (IV)infection causes.Adopting A/ PR/8/H1N1 duplicate the small mice model infected by IV.Applying FCM and ELISA etc, to aim directly at the immune pathologic condition caused by IV, we take Immunoloregulation as the index,Observing the treatment of the clearing away heat located at the ying system and relieving exterior syndrome to the drift of Th1/Th2 and the influence of the related immunity effect cell function.From the whole, cell, numemiceor level, we study the treatment of the clearing away heat located at the ying system and relieving exterior syndrome for regulating equilibrium of the Immune system.That provides earlier period scientific foundation to use the medicine of clearing away heat located at the ying system for clinical treatment with constitution of heat located at the ying system and exopathic disease. 1. Death protection of Qingying Jiebiao Heji on IV A/PR/8/H1N1 infected mice The result shows that the infectious model group begins to show symptoms of onset like gradually increasing breathing, short of breath, abdominal breathing, sluggish movement, crunching, loss of hair luster, anorexia, weight loss and reduced water intake after 24 hours. Symptoms of virazole group , Qingying Jiebiao Heji and Yinqiao Jiedu Keli group are better than the model group. No death is seen in the control group. The mortality micee of infectious model group reaches 85% and virazole group, 20%, significantly higher (P<0.01) than model group. Qingying Jiebiao Heji large dose group's mortality micee is 45% and middling dose group, 60%, significantly better than model group (P<0.01,P<0.05 respectively).
