| The prevention and cure of gastric cancer has always been a difficult problem in iatrology realm. Although surgery removal is one and the only mean to effect a radical cure of it, it is only restricted to gastric cancer in phase I, and the survival rate five years after the surgery is only 85% to 95%. The survival rate of gastric cancer in developing phase five years later is 30% to 50%, mostly less than 60%. The recrudesce rate of gastric cancer in developing phase is very high and the survival rate of that is very low, even to say the prevention of the tumor's transferring to the liver and proliferating to peritoneum. It is very difficult to detect gastric cancer in early phase. Gastric cancer in middle or late phase is mostly treated by synthetic therapeutics. Rich experiences have been accumulated with the treatments using Chinese medicines. To seek after the theory and effective medicines to prevent and cure gastric cancer is one of the important tasks of Chinese medicine researchers. This study aims to discuss the theory basis of Jiajian Dahuang Zhechong Soup's restraining effects on gastric cancer and tries to find effective medicine to cure malignancy of digestive system as gastric cancer etc.1. Theory BasisDahuang Zhechong Pill is one of the famous medicaments in "Jin Kui Yao Lue". It is used to treat serious liver blood stagnated, that is , "in a awful weak and thin state, incapable to eat because of the full of deposited food in abdomen, hurt by food, grief, drink, sex, hungry, or hard works. The jingluo and qi are hurt with dry blood in inner body, skin and nails figured, and dim eyes". The basic cause of gastric cancer in middle to late phase are the weak and stagnated of positive qi and the unexpedite of the blood flowing and its transformation into clump, which are similar with the adaptable symptoms of Dahuang Zhechong Pill. The principles of Jiajian Dahuang Zhechong Soup are to consolidate positive qi and remove negative qi, clear hot and detoxifcate, remove symptom, activate blood and dissolve stagnation, unblock Jingluo, and disperse clumps. The principles of the medicine are to use rheum, potash alum, and vinegar etc. to dissolve stagnation and soften clumps, use scorption, centipede, and bloodsucker etc. to activate blood and dissolve stagnation, unblock Jingluo, and disperse clumps, and use gen-seng, radix astragali to consolidate positive qi and remove negative qi. Modern researches have shown that restraining the growth of blood vessel of tumor is one of the newest means to cure cancers. The mechanism exists in that the growth of tumor cell depends on the nutrition, oxygen, vitamins, and minerals provided by blood. Therefore the formation of blood vessels is the most important condition of the growth, development, and transference of tumors. The centipede, scorption, eupolyphaga sinensis, and bloodsucker in Jiajian Dahuang Zhechong Soup all could act as fibrin enzyme and dissolve collagen enzyme, which could be activated through frying and steaming. Therefore this medicine restrains the growth of gastric tumor through restraining the factors affecting the formation of blood vessels. Jiajian Dahuang Zhechong Soup is made of radix astragali, rheum, scorption, centipede,gecko, eupolyphaga sinensis, gen-seng, tuckahoe, bloodsucker, castor-oil plant, and scutellaria barbata etc.The Jiajian Dahuang Zhechong Soup could be sorted by KW I ,KW II ,KWIII,KW V,KWV-3,KWV-5, and KWV-6 . The KWI mainly activates blood and dissolve stagnation with supplementing qi effects; KWII mainly supplies vigour with the effects of dissolving stagnation and dispersing clumps; KWIII is mainly helpful for spleen and can dissolve phlegm with effects of softening clumps; KWV mainly expels stagnation with effects of consolidating positive qi; KWV-3 is mainly helpful for spleen and can dissolve phlegm with effects of softening clumps and digesting deposited foods. KWV-5 mainly disperses clumps with effects of filling positive qi; KWV-6 mainly dissolves stagnation and disperses clumps with effects of supplementing blood. |
