The growth of DU-145 cells was measured by MTT method under optic microscope. The changes of the apoptosis rate and growth cycle of DU-145 cells were measured by hydro-cell appliance. The manifestation of apoptosis related protein such as Bcl-2, Bax, Capase-3, TNF-αwere measured by immunohistochemistry and combined with image analysis system.Results: DU-145 cells apoptosis morphologic changes were shown with volume reduction, chromatin coagulation and nucleus contraction after 48 hours effect "Delisheng" injection has on them. Quantity-effect relation was shown between the restrain of DU-145 cells growth and increase of the percentage of cells apoptosis. Cells cycle was restrained during G2/M causing increasing manifestation of Bax and Caspase-3 protein and decreasing manifestation of Bcl-2 protein which caused the rate of Bax/Bcl-2 to increase. The manifestation of TNF-αand caspase-8 protein also increased.Conclusions: "Delisheng" injection can restrain DU-145 cells to multiply and restrain the cells cycle during G2/M. It can induce DU-145 cells to apoptosis.
