Research On The Phonetic And Vocabulary System Of Fujian Minnan Dialect Literatures Written By Foreign Ministers In The Nineteenth Century

This dissertation studied the phonetic system of Xiamen, Zhangzhou,Zhangpu, Quanzhou dialects and the vocabulary system of Zhangzhou,Quanzhou dialects of 19th century on the basis of seven Minnan dialect literatures written by foreign ministers during that period of time;and then observated their evolution of the phonetic and vocabulary system over the last hundred years;and analysed the developed characteristics and evolving pattern of Minnan dialect. Moreover, we compared the phonetic system of these four dialects in the 19th century with cotemporary rhyme books, on the one hand, to examine the phonetic properties of rhyme books,on the other hand, to provide a basis for studying rhyme book's pronunciation.
