Polystylism, the creation concept originated in the second half of20th century, first proposed in1971by Alfred Schnittke, a Russian composer.Through comparison with other musical styles, its characteristic which is to plug the existence reference to the personal musical style of composer constitutes the mainstream of music development,and highlights the meaning of the work.As a vanguard of the Polystylism creation, Schnittke uses this skill in most of his works, connects the thinking structure of music with its concept and brings the perception into the overall idea. Through a variety of musical performance factors, these three features show its broad and profound comprehensively.Although Schnittke's the Polystylism thinking widely reflects in the composer's works of various genres, throughout his career, the main practice area is the chamber music with typical polyphonic features. Based on these works as the research object, this dissertation will more representative. Through the explanation of theory and the analysis of specific works, the objectively understanding of Polystylism is formed. On this basis, the dissertation abstracts and generalizes the language of the Polystylism contained in the chamber music, and finally promotes the Polystylism in a philosophical view, deeply digging into the meaning and value of Polystylism in the realm of thought and spirit level as well as its status and influence in the music history seriously.The dissertation including preface, the main body and epilogue. The main body is divided into introduction, number one, two, three parts and conclusion. The introduction researches the Polystylism, an up-to-date thing, from tracing its origin. The first part includes two chapters, respectively starting from Schnittke's creation of chamber music and the way of realizing Polystylism in it, and continuing to discuss the surface feature of Polystylism in an entire perspective. The second part contains number four, five, six chapters, via the microscopic analysis of the three chamber music works which represent different development stages of Polystylism, begins a comprehensive and deep research from thinking to technique. The third part contains only one chapter, but it fully arranges the music language of Polystylism in technique angle, providing analysis in philosophical and aesthetic view and theoretical basis for conclusion—Chapter8.In one word, Polystylism revealed by Schnittke's Chamber Music not only represents novel development of polyphony thinking in20th century, but is the product following history trend in the influence of modern climate as well. Since it is a selection to combine historical Aesthetic idea with recent writing technique, Polystylism can overcome the virtual of deconstruction and complete the mission of actuality. As a result, this concept and technique plays a significant role in musical history as well as makes a remarkable influence on future generation.The contribution Schnittke made for modern musical improvement engraves on everyone's mind.
