With the development of feminism theory and feminism films, the word "independence" was widely used to describe women's mordern life. In this thesis I want to study the feminism films since 90's in twentieth-century, in order to expose how the feminists use the particular film themes and skills to express their true living conditions, strong desires and disclose the oppression from the male-community, expatiate their viewpoints on society, culture, race and politics in a "female" angle of view. The definition of "feminism film" is very important. In my thesis, it means a heroine who has a vivid female position;it must not only describe the women's compulsory life , but also disclose the father-mechanism;it may use a kind of anti-mainstream narrate style to explore female's consciousness and exhibit their independence. This conception consists of many female productions and male productions which including some kinds of female consciousness. The feminism film practice appeared from sixty-decades, but in past fifteen years, it gained much development and influence than before. Many skilled film techniques and expression modes have been used in feminism film practice, their narrate contents also became capacious. Based on the levity of feminism film practice, I tried to choose the comparatively steady narrate motive as a important basis to discuss the feminism film practice, in order to explore how they use proper film language to accomplish the whole narrative process. In this research, we may appraise the value about the feminism film movements. The thesis mainly consists of four chapters: the first part depicts female's self-consciousness;the second part analyses the difference between men and women;the third part introduces the new characteristic transformation in 90's feminism film movements, after that, the thesis further discusses their limits and deficiencies.
