During the evolution and development of the human being, the relationship between the human being and nature is opposite as well as interdependent. The human being seems to have already broken away from nature after 2 million years' surviving fight with nature and other living creatures. But has the human being really broken away from nature? Or can he survive without living in nature? Can the technology and science really bring happiness to the human being? It is true that the human being was fighting to survive with nature in the most time of the human being and he regarded nature as his enemy. And the opinion that the human being and nature are enemies becomes a routine thinking mode, at least the civilization of the human being says so. But the arrogant human being seems to forget that he is only one of species of Nature, and it is impossible for the human being to survive without Nature. Still some people might also see clearly the interdependent relationship between the human being and nature, but obviously this opinion was not a dominating thought. The westerners regarded nature as their opposite side in early time, but Chinese Taoism and Confucianism culture mainly saw the connected relationship between nature and the human being. Nevertheless, in modern times China was pursuing the social modernization, which made the relationship between nature and the human being seriously alienated. 19th and 20th saw the boom of the technology and science, the consuming material were becoming prosperous. In the meantime, the ecological disasters resulted in by technology and science have made the human being re-examine the relationship between the human being and nature. The boom of ecological philosophy at the end of 20th is a symbol. Ecocriticism which takes the responsibility to study the relationship between literature and physical environment is an ecological revolution in the literature field. The last ten years of 20th saw the fast development of ecocriticism, and it is one of its main responsibilities to re-interpret the classical works.
