Daur ethnic group was always known as an ancient northern minority without own script. As for "Dahuer Character" formed in Daur history naturally, it is known by few people. "Dahuer Character" in Qing Dynasty formed in Daur society in 19^th century naturally, was used in all the Daur society estates widely, and it was used to edit pedigree, write "Wu Chun (a kind of Daur poem or song)" , remember things, keep business records, and assist to learn the language of Man ethnic group. Until after liberation, Daur people in Ta city area in Xinjiang still used "Dahuer Character" to edit the textbook for elementary school. However, this kind of script form used in all aspects in Daur peoples' lives, still became the history memory gradually. The factors leading to such result and the experienced process make us think deeply, and are worthy to focus on. We can also learn a lot from this case. Based on such purpose, the dissertation analyzes the "Dahuer Character" in Qing Dynasty in details from three aspects, such as Daur history, language system, and anthropology. The dissertation includes the following parts:Introduction: Introducing the research intention, methodology, materials and current fruits mainly.Chapter I: Introducing the historical and cultural background of creating "Dahuer Character". According to three aspects such as the history of national relationship between Daur and Man, the history of language relationship between Daur and Man, and social & cultural background for creating "Dahuer Character", this chapter gives "Dahuer Character" a detail introduction on its creation environment. In this chapter, the relationship history of ethnic group between Daur and Man is discussed according to three aspects, such as the Relationship History of Ethnic Group between Daur and Man in Houjin era, the Relationship History of Ethnic Group between Daur and Man in Qing dynasty, and How the Relationship History of Ethnic Group Impacts on Daur People, etc. the Language Relationship History between Daur and Man is discussed according to the residential areas of two ethnic groups, Man language school, and Forbidden Policy and Non-forbidden Policy in Qing Dynasty. The part of Social Foundation of "Dahuer Character" Creation is discussed by two aspects:National Language Policy in Qing Dynasty, and Daur Elites.Chapter II: According to the theories in Linguistics and Philology area, it is described the "Dahuer Character". This chapter discusses the nature of "Dahuer Character" first, and describes the spell rule of "Dahuer Character" in details. In this chapter, it is also introduced the borrowing skeleton of "Dahuer Character" letters, and the possibilities of "Dahuer Character" borrowing Man letters to spell Daur language in voice system.Chapter III: To introduce the used value of "Dahuer Character" in Qing dynasty mainly. This chapter introduces how the Daur people edit the pedigree, to write literatures and poems, and to edit dictionaries and textbooks in "Dahuer Character". And by these documents, it gives the comprehensive introduction of applied situation of "Dahuer Character" in Daur ethnic groups' history.Chapter IV: to introduce the historical and cultural value of "Dahuer Character" in Qing dynasty mainly. This chapter mainly analyzes and discusses the historical and cultural value of "Dahuer Character" in Qing dynasty, and the revelations to the other multi-nationalities society in nowadays.
