A Study Of Yin's Script As Well As Some Historic Environment About Yin's Script

Oracle bone inscription is a kind of characters carved on bones or tortoises shells in Shang Dynasty. It is a sort of comparative mature but unstable characters, which still remains the original features in many aspects. However, it is because of this kind of features that it carries a large amount of historical information which reflects the life of that time. The forms and styles of Oracles, as well as its contents, all reflect the natural environment, the social background and the historical trace of human activities in Shang Dynasty. Under the sky of Shang Dynasty, there was hot and humid climate, clusters of vegetation, the laboring land, the vast plain, the cycle of the seasons and the sowing and harvest of crops. Of course, there were also businessmen good at management, humble women, toiling slaves and cruel penalties. In addition, there were many miserable wars that happened constantly among the countries and various mysterious customs and legends. As a whole, all of these above make up the historical overall view of Shang Dynasty.This article will mainly attempt to study two issues from the research of Shang Oracle bone inscriptions:One is the natural and geographic environment of Shang; the other is its social and historical environment. At last, what I want to point out here is that there are two main clues implied throughout the article. They are the study of Oracle bone inscriptions and the study of historical events of Shang.
