The voice of improving undergraduates' abilities on mental health is higher and higher day by day. The mental health education began to come into our sight and to evidently play its' particular role. The undergraduate is a colony carried so much expectation from the society and their parents. In some meaning, the undergraduate's psychological problem is also the price they must pay for their sense of achievements. Besides the undergraduate themselves should make great efforts, the mental health education is responsible for lessening the unnecessary price. In the view of social developing, the attention on mental health is always coming out with the progress of modernization. Because people in modern society would always pursue better life quality, mental health not only means without psychological disease, but also is a modern concept and ability. Modern society is a society full of talents competition, which based on the competition in psychological qualities whose quality would become the important index when evaluating the train quality of higher education talents of this century. As the national policy, the CCCPC officially used the item Mental Health Education that was brought into the moral education in Some Ideas about further Reinforcing and Improving Work in Moral Education on Aug 31, 1994. After that, the government continually promulgated relative policy in which made concrete regulation and instruction on the work of China's undergraduate mental health education in 1995, 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2004. The Ministry of Education promulgated the Ideas about further Reinforcing and Improving Undergraduate Mental Health Education on Jan 2005. The file specified the general requirements on the undergraduate mental health education and put forward that we should struggle to advance the working level of the undergraduate mental health education in order to promote the development and consummation of the undergraduate mental health education work.Completely surveyed its developing status quo, the undergraduate mental health education played an active role in relaxing the students' mental stress and optimizing the students' psychological quality in the developing course of these two decades. It seemed that its educationally actual effect was not very satisfactory yet because there were a good many problems on educational concept, educational content, educational method, educational army, and educational quality. So it is the only choice for the undergraduate mental health education in China to seek further development and advancement when keeping in realizing its' self-value and getting its' meaning to exist in this developing era. Advancement relies on development) which is the headspring for the undergraduate mental health education in China to continuously get vigor.Just based on the above consideration, this dissertation, in the perspective of the development of the undergraduate mental health education, probes into its advancement, consummation, development, and construction in China. It expounds the theoretical foundation and realistic gist of the development of China's undergraduate mental health education and analyses the main content of the development. In addition, it looks forward the main uptrend of the development of China's undergraduate mental health education in this developing era.Above all, this dissertation discusses the signification and the characteristics of the development of China's undergraduate mental health education. Starting with the definition, it determines the concept of the following items: mental health, mental health education, and the undergraduate mental health education. On the basis of this, it analyses the signification and the characteristics of the development of China's undergraduate mental health education. Viewed in the time dimension, the development of the mental health education is a historical course; Viewed in the essential dimension, the development of China's undergraduate mental health education is the leap course of the mental health education system itself from lowness to high level, from straggling to advancement, tradition to modernness, in which obtains new essence of the era continuously. The development of mental health education is not only the supersession in the time, but mainly the transcendency in essence.secondly, this dissertation analyses and sums up the thoughts of the Marxism mentality concept and the concept of the mental health education theory in the West. Simultaneously, the dissertation retrospects and concludes the developing course and the experience and apocalypse of the mental health education in schools at both home and abroad, which is the actual foundation and the historical reference for bucking for further development of the undergraduate mental health education in China.Thirdly) this dissertation expatiates the main content of China's undergraduate mental health education, which consists of the development of the people-oriented educational notion, the development of the life-trended educational content, and the development of the educational method combined by the dominance and the recessiveness.
