Linguistics Biography Research

This paper studies "the biography style" in multiple perspectives from the stylistic researching standpoint. We definite " biography style" from stylistics domain. We consider that "biography style" is a combination of holistic and personal language structural type. It is formed in selecting language materials to constitute text, influencing by communicative function, communicative intention and communicative areas. Every kind of text style has the specific organizational structure, the length in fact, also contains the choice and organization of linguistic material, as well as the expression means utilization and so on belongs to the series characteristics. It is in this foundation that we study "biography style" in multiple perspectives such as from the narrative approach, the characteristics of text structure, the choice of language materials and methods. The biography is one origin early style form in our country, but the academic research is weaker actually relatively for various reasons, especially on its linguistic features. The goal of this paper is to discover and discuss the series linguistic characters when people utilize language to constitute biography text, provides the specific speech style solid material for style researching , also provides the linguistics instruction and reference to the creation and explanation of biography.The first chapter is an introduction to this paper .Firstly, we definite the conception of "biography style". Secondly, we illuminate the diachronic evolvement of biography style, mainly to the biography style consciousness, the form and the development. This chapter also has made the introduction to the biography style's linguistic studying survey and this paper's survey.The second chapter shows the attributes and characters of the biography style, explains its stylistic attributes, its unique nature and the overall characters in the language.The third chapter is about biography style's narration. We discuss biography style's series of characters which manifests in the narrative aspect. First is the biography style's narrative thematic construction, we point out that many choices and utilization of language methods serving this aim. The second section elaborates the function of metaphor in the thematic construction and its understanding mechanism, discusses one kind of specific metaphor method—nominalization. The third section analysis the identity and fission of relater and author from specific language performance. The fourth section researches the characters of narrative time which displays in thelanguage.The fourth chapter is text research. Firstly, we study the text structure of biographystyle (mainly its macroscopic function structure and macroscopic semantic structure).Then we discuss the characters of theme structure and transitivity system . Finally weelaborate the type, characters and function of quotations.The fifth chapter is the rhetoric research of biography style. We mainly analysis thechief features of biography style in the rhetoric aspect, and discuss some main rhetoricmethods.The sixth chapter is intertextuality research. We point out that the intertextuality is adominant character in biography style, and carefully analysis the languagemanifestation in intertextuality.The seventh chapter is the conclusion part. We carry on the induction and thereorganization to this paper's results, and point out the deficiency and researchdirection in the future.
