Study Of The Construction Of The New Period Ideology

Ideology construction is important and special in the socialist country which was built in the historical period when its economy and culture relatively backward. It is the socialist ideology under the guidance of Marxism that affected the development goal, strategic choice, system mode, and culture and value system in Chinese society. China entered into a social transformation period after 1978. In this dissertation, I will study the ideology construction under the background of social transformation, combine with the empirical data and learning achievements in politics and sociology, base on the Marxist historical materialism, I attempt to overall grasp the thought process of Chinese ideology construction in the past 30 years of reforming and opening, to make a systematic summarization of ideology construction, to propose some advices on how to promote Chinese ideology construction.In the first chapter, I'll clarify and define the concept of socialist ideology from the theoretical level, point out the content and function of it. From the view of Marx and Engels, ideology has negative meaning both as "false consciousness" and "class consciousness". But in the works of Marx, it has the concept of "neutral ideology". It showed that people had realized the conflicts between productivity and relations of production, and they attempted to overcome it in concept. Lenin inherited the basic sprit of Marxist ideology theory, according to needs of the proletariats' struggle in non-developed capitalist countries; he has not only proposed the concept of "the proletariat ideology" and "socialist ideology", but also explored the construction of proletariat ideology under the condition of proletarian dictatorship. After Lenin, it had formed the Stalin mode which strongly influenced the ideology construction of china and other socialist countries in East Europe, In this article, I mainly study the ideology construction from the aspects of ideological culture and moral construction. As for the position and function of socialist ideology in socialist countries, I think it mainly manifested that we should promote the modernization by socialist value orientation and spiritual condensation. .In chapter II ,chapterIII,chapterIV, I separately invest the background, theoretical development and facing problems of ideology construction in the new stage. In the second chapter, I analyze the experience and lessons in our country's ideology construction before reform and opening, illustrate the social and ideological background which ideology construction faces in the new stage. I will analyze the characters of china society from the angle of relationship between country and society. In this period, the feature of china society presented as a mode of "strong country, weak society". That is to say, the country has strong autonomy and adsorption ability to society; it does not only play a key role in promoting the social economy development, but also play an important role in maintaining the steadiness of society, holding together the morality of society. Mao's thoughts and practice on ideology construction developed in this social background, at the same time, it directly affected this period, it has also left many precious historical experiences and heavy historical lessons to us. In the third chapter, I take the social character changes after reform and opening as the background, start from the main content of socialist ideology construction; I hackle the development process of new period ideology construction in details. From Den Xiaoping's new thoughts on ideology construction to "three represents important thoughts" discussed the "advanced culture", then the new development of Chinese socialist ideology construction after the 16^th National congress, especially the system elaboration on the socialist core value system, these all constitute the main stage of new period Chinese socialist ideology construction. In the fourth chapter, I analyze the challenges what ideology construction faces in the new period. After the middle of 1990's, china's reform entered into a deep stage. Our reform has achieved great achievement, but, many problems of social transformation also apparent. It presented as social stratum diversity, social economy developed without balance, social cultural diversity, international environment globalization and network. All these problems and situations has posed a great challenge to the socialist ideology construction.In chapter V. I summarize the main experience of Chinese ideology construction after reform and opening. Since year 1978, Chinese ideology has been in incessant development and changes, the reasonable composition and value pursuit of traditional socialist ideology has still been inherited and been enriched by new theory while the previous twisted "left" ideology has been changed. Concerning on the change and development of practice, combining with the needs of social development, clearing the scientific location of ideology, paying attention to balance the diversity and unity in culture, ideological and moral construction, insisting on CPC's leadership to ideology, these all above consist of the foundation of ideology construction success in new period.In chapter VI, I combine with the experiences and challenges, propose countermeasure to the problem--How to promote Chinese ideology construction in the new period. First, keeping and improving the content of ideology construction. In the new historical condition, china as a super large-scale society, its social transformation faces great risk. Party in power should guide the society by active response in ideology, enhance the cohesion of society, guide and mobilize social members through social and political ideal, make the behavior objectives of social members unify, strengthen ability of getting rid of risks in politics, society and economy areas. Second, we should play further the function of ideology construction, including the political socialization function, value guidance function, benefits expression and integration function, so as to make ideology construction service better to socialist modernization construction. Third, we should exploring new way of ideology construction, that mainly is absorbing, fusing traditional and western culture consciously by Chinese Marxism main stream culture, form theoretical achievements with great innovative meaning; meanwhile, further improve the coordination between ideology and realistic policy, realize the value goal for most people's interests by concrete social policies, greatly develop socialist cultural and empower, striving for voice power in the international environment increasingly globalization, make socialist ideology get wide propaganda and accreditation around the world.
