Shallow sea area is one of the hotter points for current petroleum and gas exploration.The hydrophones are put into the sea by throwing during exploration on shallow sea. They cannot be positioned to the designed location due to many factors such as ship jolt, changed speed of the ship, personal factor, tide, undercurrent, wind and wave. Real locations of hydrophones on the bottom of sea always drift away from the designed position and deviations will occur.The deviations will influence seismic imaging, that is, it will heavily affect quality of seismic exploration on shallow sea area.A kind of new method combines advantages of both acoustic wave position and first wave position. The high precision hydrophones system is devoleped, which is suited to shallow sea seismic data acquisition on the base of firstbreak information supplied by source. The system is formed by electric spark system and seismic acquisition system. It is based on synchronous communication and system integration technology. A position software is developed, which includes the process from input of seismic data, firstbreak pickup, position coordinates calculating, result output. The method and precision control technique are presented which are based on firstbreak wave position in three-dimensional space. An improved energy method also put forward the precision position.The system is proved by experiment. The real location is confirmed by process hydrophones data. It also offers accurate and basic data for quality control on survey process and data process. The system can finish shallow sea hydrophones position fastly and effectively, meanwhile, it can improve position precision. So that the quality of seismic data on shallow sea will be improved.
