Nyainqentanglha, one of the ten national alternative reserves of raw materials,is another important lead-zinc polymetallic metallogenic belt newly discovered inthe Yalu Tsangpo River metallogenic province after the Gangdese Porphyry CopperBelt. On the basis of the scientific research and production project inNyainqentanglha, this paper makes a systematic analysis of tectonic regimeevolution, lead-zinc polymetallic ore-controlling factors, genetic types, spatial andtemporal distribution of deposits and deposit metallogenic series of Nyainqentanglhametallogenic province since Paleozoic by using methods like stratigraphic sequenceanalysis, structural analysis, modern petrology, ore deposit geochemistry, metallogenic chronology, etc.The main innovative achievements are as follows:1.Discover and evaluate the layered lead-zinc polymetallic deposits which areproven large-scale to super-scale, such as Yaguila, Lawu and Angzhang, and hostedin the sedimentary formations of Late Paleozoic Laigu Formation clastic rocks andcarbonate rocks. Since then, an upsurge of Lead-zinc polymetallic depositsexploration in the study area has been set off in Nyainqentanglha.2. Through stratigraphic sequence and structural analysis, this paper makes astudy of sedimentological features and differences of different regions of the studyarea, then divides the Nyainqentanglha metallogenic province into four metallogenicgeological structure units which are Zhaxue-Jinda fault uplift, Longmala-Yaguilafault depression, Dulangla fault uplift and Lawu-Angzhang fault depression fromsouth to north. It also puts forward a new statement that Nyainqentanglha tectonicevolution is from the Late Paleozoic geological tectonic pattern which has analternating distribution of fault uplift and fault depression, to the Meso-Cenozoicmagmatic arc under the Neo-Tethys tectonic setting.3. Develop study on typical deposits in the study area systematically. On thebasis of comparative study about typical deposits such as Yaguila, Lawu, Mengyaa,Xingaguo and Angzhang, this paper initially puts forward that in the study area there exist three metallogenic series which are Late Paleozoic submarine exhalativesedimentary lead-zinc-barite-gypsum deposit metallogenic series,iron-copper-lead-zinc metallogenic series related to intermediate-acid intrusivemagmatism in late Yanshan period of Mesozoic, and molybdenum-lead-silverdeposit metallogenic series related to intermediate-acid intrusive magmatism inHimalayan period of Cenozoic, and sets up the hydrothermal sedimentation andmagmatic hydrothermal superimposed deformation metallogenic model.4. This paper sets up a comprehensive information prospecting model onregional polymetallic ore. Based on comprehensive collection of existed informationon geology, minerals, geophysical prospecting, geochemical prospecting and remotesensing for the study area, it starts with the analysis of metallogenic geologicalsetting for the study area, and then synthesizes the information on geologicalanomaly, geophysical anomaly, geochemical anomaly and remote sensing anomaly,by the use of methods such as supplementary geological survey, test or study ofgenetic mineralogy, stable isotopes, mineral inclusions and primary halos, the authorhas undertaken research on typical deposits in the study area, analyzed mainore-controlling conditions and prospecting criteria for different types of deposits, and then summarized the regional copper-zinc polymetallic ore prospecting criteriaand metallogenic regularity which would be further extracted to form the regionaldeposit combination model and comprehensive information prospecting model ofregional polymetallic ore.5. It has explored effective prospecting methods or techniques combinations forthe working area. That is3S technology plus stream sediment survey to optimizeand narrow the prospecting target area, large-scale geological mapping plus soilgeochemical exploration, induced electrical profiling survey to fix the position ofore-body, engineering verification to delimit the ore-body.6. On the basis of the metallogenic regularity study, the author has scientificallypredicted and delimited16metallogenic prospect areas, which have been widelyapplied to different kinds of mineral resources exploration projects in the study area. In the follow-up project Tibet Renduogang strategic mineral prospective survey,5ore-fields and12ore occurrences which have good prospecting potentials have beennewly found.
