The dielectric response theory of the slurry water has been studied in details in this paper, based on this theory an experiment scheme of detecting the concentration of the slurry water by using parallel plate capacitance sensor has been put forward. Then the sensor data fusion theory and the data fusion algorithm have been studied, and the experimental device of detecting the concentration of the slurry water based on data fusion has been designed. The changing regularity between the concentration of the slurry water and the capacitance sensor measurements has been obtained by a large number of experiments, so the mathematical model of measuring the concentration of slurry water has been established, and the feasibility and accuracy of the model has been verified according to the law which had been established to reflect the settlement regulation of the slurry water in thickener. At the same time, the influence of the temperature of the slurry water, the content of PAM and the particle size of the slime to the measurement have been studied. Also, the different content of the main minerals in the slime, such as kaolin, calcite, pyrite, quartz has been studied in details, and the corresponding law has been got. Therefore, from the theory and experimental, the testing plan and the mathematical model can be achieved the slime thickener flocculation test analysis.
