Background:Breast cancer is the most common cancer in female, as the data in Cancer Statistics2014indicated that the morbidity is the top one and mortality is in the top five in both America and China. Triple negative breast cancer has the features such as high invasiveness, poor prognosis and lack of endocrine and target therapy method, which triggered a hot spot in this research area. It seems very meaningful to find out more new molecular remarks to classify this type of breast cancer, estimate the treatment schedule and prognosis.Objects:To analysis the expression of FOXA1and ERβ in triple negative breast cancer and the relationship between them and the clinical pathology and prognosis. It may be the theoretical basis in early diagnosis and prognosis estimating and may find new target spot for gene therapy.Method:Collecting the breast cancer samples in Peking Union Medical College from November in2011to December in2013, screen out the triple negative breast cancer based on the expression of ERα、PR and HER-2. We use immunohistochemical method to detect the expression of FOXA1and ERβ. Finally,20ERβ negative samples and28ERβ positive samples were obtained to analysis the results.Result:The total positive rate of FOXA1is35.42%(17/48).In the ERβ positive group, the positive rate of FOXA1is35.71%(10/28), and in the ERβ negative group, the positive rate of FOXA1is35%(7/20). There is no significant difference in age, tumor size, lymphatic metastasis number in axilla, tumor grade, tumor stage, Ki-67index, NPI and DFS between ERβ positive and ERβ negative groups. At the same time, the expression of FOXA1in these two groups has no significant difference which indicates that there is no relation between ERβ and FOXA1. The FOXA1positive group and FOXA1negative group also showed no significant difference in age, tumor size, and lymphatic metastasis number in axilla, tumor grade, tumor stage NPI and DFS. However, Ki-67showed negative correlation with FOXA1expression (P<0.05).Conclusion:FOXA1expression has no relationship with ERβexpression in the triple negative breast cancer. Ki-67showed negative correlation with FOXA1expression (P<0.05), which may hint that the proliferation of tumor cell is low in FOXA1positive breast cancer.
