Focused on prevention of early psychological disorders population in colleges and establishing a standard intervention program for two psychological disorders(anxiety, depression and suicide). 3. To investigate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of PHQ-9, GAD-7 and PSS in college students and to set up the tool to assess college students’ psychological health status.[Methods] We conducted cross sectional study and case-control study in research. 1. Studies of the freshmen’s psychological health status and effectiveness of the related education.A general psychological test was launched for the freshmen in Shanghai Jiaotong University to profile their psychological health status. Comparisons were made before and after one year’s related education. 2. Intervention study for freshmen with psychological disorders After the related psychological assessment scales, freshmen of Shanghai Jiaotong University were put into the intervention group or the control group under certain criteria. The intervention group was compared before and after intervention and with the control group. 3. The reliability and validity test of PHQ-9, GAD-7, PSS in Chinese version The first subjects of PHQ-9, GAD-7 Scales, who were four different grades students from Shanghai Jiaotong University and East China Normal University, took several tests at first to calculate the reliability of the scales. With the gold criteria of MINI(adult version), the coefficient of sensitivity, specificity and ROC curve were investigated. In addition, the SDS, SAS, SF-36 were used as the parallel validity tests. Two weeks after the first test, 10% of the students were selected randomly to assess the retest reliability. The PSS Scale were firstly tested on the students of 2011 in Shanghai Jiaotong University to assess the reliability, meanwhile PHQ-9 and GAD-7 were used as the parallel validity tests. One month after the first test, 120 students randomly were retested for reliability..[Results] 1. Studies on freshman psychological health conditions and effectiveness of education. The average scores of the first PHQ-9 and GAD-7 were 6.80±4.42 and 4.76±3.83 respectively. According to the criteria, 361(34.45%) students were free of depression and 361(34.45%) were with depression. Moreover, 687(63.55%) students had anxity and 491(46.85%) hadn’t.The education led to lowered scores of students’ anxiety and depression, enhanced scores of self-rated health and reduced suicide risks. All changes showed a significant difference. 2. Intervention study for freshmen with psychological disorders The intervention group had a decreased anxiety and depression level after the intervention and changes compared with control group showed a significant difference. 3. Studies of the reliability and validity test The reliability of the three scales and retests are good. Also, the parallel validity and construct validity showed good results.[Conclusions]1. The freshmen represented by students of Shanghai Jiaotong University generally have a sound psychological health conditions, but anxiety, suicide and stress problem still exist. Thus, it’s necessary and effective to carry out the psychological health education for freshmen. 2. College students of early psychological disorders should be intervened by some appropriate ways, such as peer education(counseling), team treatment, etc. Our studies proved these approaches are suitable and effective. 3. The helpful way to improve student psychological health education and management is to build up an integrated and continuous system of psychological health management and prevention for college students. 4. The Chinese version of PHQ-9, GAD-7 and PSS-10 have good reliability and validity during the college students.
