A Study On Chinese Ba-structure In Teaching Chinese As A Foreign/Second Language

Under the instruction of Construction-Chunk Analysis(CCA), this paper has re-analyzed Ba-structure, which is one of the important and difficult language points in the area of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign/Second Language (TCFL/TCSL) for a long time, and used the results of reanalysis to improve the teaching effects of Ba-structure, which can help the Chinese learners a lot.In order to achieve the objectives, firstly we rethink the reasons that teaching experts have discussed in the past, and propose our understanding, in which we found that although there were many theoretically deep studies and discussions on Ba-structure in the last two decades, but most of them cannot resolved the problems we met in reality. So we put forward two points of view to solving such problems, which are re-analyzing Ba-structure from the perspective of ontological study of Chinese language teaching and re-planning Ba-structure from the perspective of teaching arrangements.Based on the above reviews and multi-angle analyses, we believe, the CCA brings us new ideas and methods to the problem of "difficult to teach, difficult to learn". It is because the CCA absorbs the corn ideas of Construction Grammar and Chunks of Language, and blend them creatively and organically. The creative development is based on deep understanding the relationship between Holistic View of language and the Block of mental representation. Objectively we believe such development benefits the applications of language teaching.According to the CCA concepts, we propose and design the analysis process and specify the design motivation for the first time, and then we re-analyses Ba-structure. As a result, we get six constructions of Ba, and try to study out the concrete constructional meaning, which can be the basis for teaching material. Then we further discuss the teaching arrangements of the six Ba-construction, and specify the comprehensive level of Ba-construction in teaching implementation to change current arrangement. Finally, with the new teaching idea and pedagogy Construction-Chunk Approach (CCa), which is under the guidance of the concept of the CCA, we propose specific design of teaching process and details of how to implement teaching of Ba-construction.In summary, this study applies a new research method to reanalyze old problem, and we believe that it has make a step forward to solve the problem. And at the same time, it is noted that, fundamentally speaking, we are in search of new way to reforming the teaching methods of Sentence Pattern in TCFL/TCSL. The CCA and the CCa will give us more information to further researching, and they themselves also need to develop.
