| Objective:Using the same parameter and different duration of electroacupuncture(EA),observe different effects of the needling at Zhongwan(CV 12),Neiguan(PC 6)and Zusanli(ST 36)on gastric motility of normal rats.Furthermore, choose different needling orders for the compatible application of the three acupoints(perform EA simultaneously or successively)to observe their effects on gastric motility of normal rats, and summarize the law of effects as well. Methods:By performing EA for 30s,60s and 120s respectively with the same parameter(3mA,2/15Hz),the different effects of various acupoints including Zhongwan(CV 12),as well as Neiguan(PC 6)and Zusanli(ST 36)in both sides of the body on the intragastric pressure of normal rats were observed. The law of the changes of intragastric pressure was analyzed with 15 seconds as the unit interval, and the time of needle retention for various acupoints to achieve the best effects was summarized. The law of the changes of gastric motility was studied by applying EA with different combinations and different needling orders(simultaneous or successive needling)of Zhongwan(CV 12),Neiguan(PC 6)and Zusanli(ST 36).Based on the combination of the composition form and needling order of the three acupoints,it could be divided into:the simultaneous needling group(CV 12 and PC 6;CV 12 and ST 36;PC 6 and ST 36;CV 12,PC 6 and ST 36),the successive needling group(1.Needling at PC 6 or ST 36 30 seconds after CV 12;2.Needling at PC 6 and ST 36 30 seconds after CV 12;3.Needling at CV 12 120 seconds after PC 6 or ST 36;4.Needling at CV 12 120 seconds after PC 6 and ST 36;5.Needling at ST 36 or PC 6 120 seconds after PC 6 or ST 36),and the group of needling in turn(1.Change the needling points into PC 6 or ST 36 after inserting needles at CV 12 for 30 seconds;2.Change the needling points into PC 6 and ST 36 after inserting needles at CV 12 for 30 seconds;3.Change the needling points into CV 12 after inserting needles at PC 6 or ST 36 for 120 seconds;4.Change the needling points into CV 12 after inserting needles at PC 6 and ST 36 for 120 seconds;5.Change the needling points into ST 36 or PC 6 after inserting needles at PC 6 or ST 36 for 120 seconds).Observe the changes and different effects of rat intragastric pressure before and after EA in various groups and summarize the law of effects.Results:① After performing EA at Zhongwan(CV 12)for 30 seconds, the gastric motility was inhibited. The intragastric pressure decreased obviously during EA compared with that before the treatment, showing statistical significance(P<0.05).But EA at Neiguan(PC 6)and Zusanli(ST 36)in the both sides of the body couldn’t excite gastric motility, and the intragastric pressure during and before the electroacupuncture had no significant difference.EA at Zhongwan(CV 12)for 60 and 120 seconds could both inhibit gastric motility. The intragastric pressure decreased significantly during EA.There was significant difference during and before EA(P<0.05).EA at Neiguan(PC 6)and Zusanli(ST 36)in both sides of the body also had excitatory effect on gastric motility and the intragastric pressure obviously increased during EA compared with that before the treatment, showing statistical significance(P<0.05).The excitatory rate of gastric motility was higher when perform EA at Neiguan(PC 6)and Zusanli(ST 36)for 120 seconds than that for 60 seconds. The effects of acupoints in the left and right sides of four limbs had no difference.②EA at Zhongwan(CV 12)could produce weakening effect on the intragastric pressure within 15 seconds, while EA at Neiguan(PC 6)and Zusanli(ST 36)achieved the best effect of enhancing the intragastric pressure at about 90 seconds after EA.③ Simultaneous performance of EA at Zhongwan(CV 12)and Neiguan(PC 6)/Zusanli(ST 36)could inhibit gastric motility, and decrease obviously the intragastric pressure during EA.There was significant difference during and before EA(P<0.05).Performing EA simultaneously at Neiguan(PC 6)and Zusanli(ST 36)in either the same or the opposite side of the body could both excite gastric motility and obviously increase intragastric pressure compared with that before EA,with statistical significance(P<0.05).However,the effect size was not superimposed.Performing EA simultaneously at Zhongwan(CV 12),Neiguan(PC 6)and Zusanli(ST 36)could inhibit gastric motility, and decrease significantly the intragastric pressure compared with that before EA,showing statistical significance(P<0.05).④For the performance of EA at Zhongwan(CV 12)firstly and Neiguan(PC 6)/Zusanli(ST 36)(PC 6 and ST 36)secondly,the intragastric pressure decreased obviously. There was significant difference during and before EA(P<0.05).For the performance of EA at Neiguan(PC 6)/Zusanli(ST 36)(PC 6 and ST 36)firstly and secondly the Zhongwan(CV 12),the intragastric pressure increased significantly. There was significant difference during and before EA(P<0.05).The successive needling order had no effects on the intragastric pressure when applying Neiguan(PC 6)and Zusanli(ST 36)together.Conclusions:①Different points require different needling time to produce the best effect on gastric motility in normal state:Abdominal acupoint(Zhongwan)can quickly inhibit gastric motility after inserting the needle, while acupoints of four limbs(Neiguan,Zusanli)required a period of time to excite the gastric motility after inserting the needles. The time of needle retention is an important factor for the acupuncture effect of different acupoints.② For the compatible application of the abdominal acupoint(Zhongwan)and the points of four limbs(Neiguan,Zusanli),it shows an inhibitory effect on gastric motility with the effect of local acupoint(Zhongwan)as dominant when inserting needles simultaneously. While the effect of the point firstly inserted at is dominant when inserting needles successively. This compatible form will counteract the effect size(antagonism).③ The effects on the gastric motility won’t be superimposed(synergism)for the compatible application of points of four limbs(Neiguan,Zusanli). |
