Nowadays,wether in China or in the world,the cello as a musical instrument has developed rapidly,and is used widely in many areas of music.Under this background,the paper takes the European cello playing schools which is the important element in cello's development history as the research object,and to do the study from different views by using historical research methods.The research shall take four different point of views of the 19th century European cello plyaing schools to study.The main contents are like this:Research of the early history of European cello schools and the European cello schools characteristics;Causes for the European cello schools;Inheritance and relations of 19th century European cello schools;Analysis of 19th century European cello schools'significant methods?essay?and research of European cello schools'characteristics of art and playing technique in 19th century.First,the research shows that‘the core leader',‘the important representatives'and‘numerous excellent performers'these three different groups of artists constitute the schools of the cello playing.The cello playing schools have characters such like continuity,evolutionary development,complexity and limitation.Second,according to the study,many aspects of European social elements are related with the schools of cello playing,and these elements have a great effect on the cello playing schools.The establishment of the conservatories of music in Europe had provided a good environment for the schools of cello playing.The research shows the time of the establishment of the cello playing schools and the establishment order of these four cello playing schools.Besides this,the research shows a clear inheritance list of the cello playing schools of 19th century in Europe.The crossing inheritance was existed between these four main cello playing schools,and also existed in each cello playing schools internal.Every cello playing school has its own characteristics of the art of cello playing,and these characters produce very positive effect for the art of cello playing in cello's history.According to the inheritance list,the study made a inheritance diagram to show the clear relations of the inheritance.The paper based on the research of the 19th century European cello playing schools obtained a rich result.The study researched on relevant history and causes of the cello playing schools,meanwhile obtained a clear inheritance list of 19th century cello playing schools'cellists in Europe.To analyzing the different cello school's methods and essays,summarized similarities and differences of four great European cello schools'art of the cello playing.The results of the research shows a clear context to understand the historical matters and the causes of the European cello schools in 19th century;The study finds that the cello playing schools in 19th century in Europe had experienced the progress like that develop from nothing,from the singleton to the multiple and from the mutiple to the fusion.The results shows a clear inheritance diagram of the four great European cello playing schools;The results of the research gives a certain extent academic value to China's cello academic research aspect,and shows a reference value to the cello playing and cello education,in the future development in China.
