Social status is the position of the group or individual in social class structure.By means of participating in social operation and competition with social traits,the social status of the grovp or individual proves to be the result,which is based on an obtaining scarce resource and recognition from the system of social rules.However,it's a difference that the scarce resource and recognition from the system of social rules for social status are in different social forms,which depends on the degree of the balance between surviving and morality resource in the social system.The formation of social status will focus on obtaining scarce resource whensurviving and morality resource tend to be in tension;the formation of social status will focus on obtaining recognition from the system of social rules when it is in balance.Correspondingly,the formation of the social status of rural teachers is influenced by three factors:the scarce knowledge is the determining factor,the ritual system is the binding conditions,and the urban-rural social class structure is the space limitation.The study finds that the social status of rural teachers has changed from the moral disenchantment to the marginalized status in general.The balance of surviving resource in traditional society makes all circlescommit to enrichmorality resource,and then to construct the social ethics level structure with the core of"Senior"and"Teacher"and Confucian orthodoxy with a perfect and meticulous social rules system.The rural teacher as practitioner of "Senior"and "Teacher" is endowed with moral symbols.However,the social class and ideology of "Senior"and "Teacher" is overthrownand replaced with social philosophy of power and interests under the influence of modern revolutionary movement.The rural teacher gradually lost the morality support and authority from social ethics level and Confucian orthodoxy,and turnto adjust to the social system of power and interests.At the present age of the tensed surviving resource and declined morality resource,the social status of rural teachers is based on obtaining surviving resource.Unfortunately,with the triple effects of scarcity knowledge to weaker,social relationship and level of education of urban-rural to strengthen,the rural teacher is obviously disadvantagedin the process of obtaining and dominating surviving resource,which makes the social status of rural teachers fell reasonably and improve difficultly.Therefore,under the condition of the urban-ruralsocial class structure,the improving social status of rural teachers depend on realizing the scarcity of knowledge,providing competitive salary,and respecting with moral imperative.However,considering the impact of actual situation that is far from the center of knowledge,intellectual network,the urban-rural polarized development of social and education,simultaneous surviving resource in tense,social distribution to give first priority to with competition and ignoring the public interest and excessive social individualizatioin,it's difficult for rural teachers to realize the scarcity of knowledge,obtain competitive salary,and gain the respect with moral imperative.In other words,the possibility to improve the rural teachers' social status is limited.
