An intermittent, continuous, and integrated psychotherapy is suggested for the borderline personality disorder. The three components of the model are psychoanalysis as a tool to understand the disorder, cognitive-behavioral techniques as the treatment tools, and logotherapy, an existential psychotherapy, as the unifying force in the integration of the three components. The complexity and difficulty of the treatment of individuals with the borderline personality disorder require the combined creative energies of these major forces in psychology. It is recommended that the model be tested in expanded case studies.
