Part of the analysis focuses on the dialogic relations that Vargas Llosa's novel establishes with other contemporary texts (Nicola Chiaromonte, Camus, Angel Rama) and the Latin American context. It also examines the references to some medieval legends used in the development of the characters, through which the author incorporates the archaic ways of life and culture of the peoples in the backlands of Canudos, where the republican army of Brazil waged a war against the peasants. In the sense, the novel reveals itself as polyphonic not only for the multitude of voices (ideas) heard within, but also for the dialogue it establishes with the author's context and with our history. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Del, Vargas, Novel | | Related items |
