The basic structure of mine magnetic coupler was determined based on theoretical andapplication results of it and the background of mine production. A detailed study was made for thecause of eddy current relative movement between the conductor and permanent magnet anddistribution characteristic in magnetic field, so the basic law was deduced for the output torque.Analyzing the effects of different parameters on magnetic induction intensity, transmission torque andoutput power using Matlab and Maxwell software. The test platform was designed and built, testingthe relationship impact for the gap, the copper thickness, the magnetic thickness, the magnetic polearea and logarithm on mechanical and working properties of the magnetic coupling, optimizing theparameters of40kW permanent magnetic coupling, A new prototypic is developed, and themechanical and working properties was tested, proving the good soft start and overload protectionperformance, having the capacity for driving fan and constant torque load, that provide the basis ofexperimental and design for its application in coal mine production and greater power magneticcoupler development.
