Construction industry is one of the important pillar industries of China’s national economy.However,with the rapid development of the construction industry,there are also serious safety issues.Among them,unsafe behavior of construction workers is one of the main reasons for the accident.In order to improve workers’ safety behavior and the safety performance,construction companies have conducted a series of safety management systems.However,as far as the current construction safety situation in China,the effectiveness of the implementation of safety management systems still exists.It is urgent to explore the mechanism of the institutional factors on workers’safe behaviors,in order to improve the workers’ safe behaviors via institutional factors.The construction activities are essentially a multi-Agent social process,person is the main role of construction activities.In addition to the safety institutions restrict workers’ behavior,the social network between people,presented by informal norms,will also constrain human behaviors.As a collection of social network resources,social capital can propose soft constraints such as informal institutions to constrain behavior,has important impact on workers’ safe behavior.Therefore,this dissertation learned from social capital and institutional capital theory,introduced workers’ safety competency as mediating variable.In order to explore the relationship among social capital between supervisors and workers’,supervisor institutional capital,workers’safety competency,and workers’ safety behaviors.Firstly constructed a conceptual model,and then use the structural equation model(SEM)method to verify this model,data was collected via questionnaire survey.The empirical analysis explored the mechanism of social capital between supervisors and workers’social capital,supervisor institutional capital on workers’safety behavior,and the mediating effect of workers’ safety competency,and then compares and analyzes the impact of embedded supervisor institutional capital or social capital between supervisors and workers’on workers’ safety behaviors.Thirdly,a multi-agent simulation model between variables was constructed,based on the NetLogo platform,to explore the effect of the dynamic changes of social capital between supervisors and workers’,and supervisor institutional capital on workers’ safety behavior.Finally,proposed management countermeasures and suggestions for different types of construction enterprises,to provide theoretical basis for the formulation and implementation of safety institutions for construction enterprises.The conclusions are as follows:(1)Social capital between supervisors and workers’,supervisor institutional capital both have significant impacts on workers’ safety behavior,and different dimension had different impact.The structure dimension of social capital between supervisors and workers’ had no significant impact on workers’ safety compliance behavior,and had a significant negative impact on workers’ safety participation behavior;the relationship and cognitive dimensions had significant positive effects on both workers’ safety compliance and safety participation behavior.The prevention institutions and control institutions of supervisor institutional capital,had a significant positive impact on both workers’ safety compliance and safety participation behavior,while evaluation institution had a significant negative impact on both safety compliance and safety participation behavior.(2)The combined effect of social capital between supervisors and workers’,and supervisors’institutional capital on workers’ safety behavior was greater than the individual impact.When the supervisors’ institutional capital was embedded,the structural,relational,and cognitive dimension all reduced the impact of workers’ safety compliance and safety participation behavior.The structural dimension had a slightly negative effect on workers’ safety participation behavior;When social capital between supervisors and workers’ was embedded,the effects of prevention,control,and evaluation institutions on workers’safety compliance and safety participation behavior were reduced.The negative effect of evaluation institution on safety behavior was not significant or reduced.Although the impact of the current variables had been reduced after embedding the remaining variables,the combined effect of social capital between supervisors and workers’,and supervisor institutional capital on workers’safety behavior was greater than the individual impact.(3)Workers’ safety competency played a mediating role in the relationship among the social capital between supervisors and workers’,supervisor institutional capital on workers’ safety behavior.Workers’ safety competency played a part mediating role in the negative effects of the structural dimension on workers’ safety participation behavior,and play a part mediating role of cognitive dimension on workers’ safety compliance and safety participation behavior.However,when embedded supervisor institutional capital,workers’ safety competency no longer mediated the effect of cognitive dimension on safety behaviors.Workers’ safety competency mediated the impact of prevention institutions,control institutions and evaluation institutions on workers’safety compliance and safety participation behavior.When embedded in social capital between supervisors and workers’,workers’safety competency played a part mediating role in the negative impact of evaluation instututions on safety participation behavior,the rest remain unchanged.(4)The results of simulation analysis showed the different effects of dynamic changes of supervisor institutional capital and social capital between supervisors and workers’ on workers’safety behaviorSupervisor institutional capital and social capital between supervisors and workers’ had a positive impact on the improvement of workers’ safety behavior and workers’ safety competency,and the influence of supervisor institutional capital was greater than social capital between supervisors and workers’.Social capital between supervisors and workers’ can be used as an auxiliary tool to promote worker’s safety behavior.The influence of supervisor institutional capital on workers ’ safety behavior mainly worked by improving the workers’ safety competency,while social capital between supervisors and workers’ had a smaller impact on workers’ safety competency,and the promotion of workers’ safety behavior through workers’ safety competency was also weak.The fluctuation of supervisor institutional capital was roughly opposite to the peak change of worker’ safety behavior.
