Research On The Influence Mechanism Of Environmental Governance On Enterprise Green Innovation

China,as a developing country,is constrained by the low level of green innovation in the early stage,and has produced serious environmental pollution problems with rapid industrialization and urbanization.Enterprises as the main carrier of pollution control and green innovation,collaborating enterprise’s environmental governance and green innovation is an important guarantee to achieve high-quality economic development in the new era.It is worth noting that,affected by the dynamic capability,enterprises in different life cycle stages show differentiated green innovation behaviors under the constraint of environmental governance.From the existing studies,few scholars analyze the impact of heterogeneous environmental governance on green innovation from enterprises level;In addition,as an important driving factor of enterprise innovation behavior,the existing researches have not specifically elaborated the reasons behind the differential effect of environmental regulation on different life cycle stage enterprise green innovation from this perspective.In view of this,this dissertation puts forward the following three questions:first,environmental governance and green innovation as the main means of solving environmental pollution problems,can diversified environmental governance and green innovation coexist?Secondly,considering the dynamic development characteristics of enterprises,will environmental governance have a different impact on green innovation in different life cycle stages?Thirdly,what are the key dynamic capabilities factors that determine the nonlinear relationship between environmental governance and green innovation for enterprises in different life cycle stages?Based on the above three problems,this dissertation follows the overall idea of theoretical elaboration,mechanism analysis,empirical test and countermeasures propose,expounds the related theories of environmental governance,dynamic capability and green innovation,infers the influence mechanism of heterogeneous environmental governance on enterprise green innovation,and reveals the moderating mechanism of dynamic capabilities on the relationship between environmental governance and green innovation.In the empirical segment,this dissertation takes all listed companies of Shanghai and Shenzhen A-shares from 2013 to 2018 as the research object,builds the environmental governance,green innovation and dynamic capabilities indicators from the micro enterprise level,and tests the influence effect of heterogeneous environmental governance on enterprise green innovation,examines the differences of enterprises’dynamic capabilities in different life cycle stages,and explains the moderating effect of dynamic capabilities on the relationship between environmental governance and enterprise green innovation.First of all,based on the construction of duopoly enterprise model,this dissertation argues that,without considering the differences of enterprise dynamic capabilities,through making up for the pollution control cost and increasing indirect economic benefits,heterogeneous environmental governance has a promoting effect on green innovation.Furthermore,for enterprises in different life cycle stages,green innovation under the constraint of environmental governance is regulated by enterprise dynamic capabilities.Based on the green innovation strategy and dynamic capability evolution mechanism model,this dissertation points out that whether environmental governance can play a positive and effective role in driving green innovation depends on the impact of internal and external enterprise dynamic capabilities on pollution control costs and indirect economic benefits.Secondly,considering whether the environmental governance concept can be transformed into policy dividend,the key lies in the core carrier(enterprises)of environmental governance whether adopt appropriate response strategies.From the micro level of enterprises,this dissertation points out that environmental governance is to meet the differentiated environmental protection policies,standards and social green development needs,with help of the government’s mandatory intervention,market regulation mechanism and individual self-restraint,etc,forms constraints on the enterprises that cause environmental damage and promotes them to show a series of response strategies.On this basis,this dissertation selects the total amount of investment of enterprise in environmental governance,enterprise sewage charge and enterprise ISO 14001 environmental certification as the proxy indicators of command control,market regulation and voluntary participation environmental governance.The empirical results confirm that environmental governance can effectively enhances enterprise green innovation,which is manifested as the "innovation compensation"effect.However,there are significant differences in the positive effects of different types of environmental governance on enterprise green innovation.Thirdly,from the perspective of cognitive theory and the theoretical framework of perception creation and perception giving,this dissertation proposes a system of enterprise dynamic capabilities,which mainly includes internal dynamic capabilities(absorptive capabilities and operational capabilities)and external dynamic capabilities(consciousness capabilities and relational capabilities).On this basis,this dissertation selects enterprise cash flow index to construct life cycle stage identification model,and tests the difference of enterprise dynamic capability in different life cycle stages.The results show that the internal and external dynamic capabilities significantly promote the improvement of enterprise green innovation.The results of descriptive statistical analysis and one-way ANOVA confirm the differences of dynamic capabilities in different life cycle stages,and show a decreasing trend in the period of maturity,growth and decline.Finally,this dissertation confirms that command control,market regulation and voluntary participation in environmental governance have different effects on the green innovation of enterprises in different life cycle stages.Compared with the growth and mature enterprises,the positive promotion effect of environmental governance on green innovation of enterprises during the recession period is not significant.On this basis,combined with the identification of dynamic capabilities and the construction of the regulatory effect model,this dissertation analyzes the moderating effects of internal and external dynamic capabilities such as absorptive capacity,operational capability,consciousness capacity and relationship capability on the relationship between environmental governance and green innovation.With improvement of dynamic capabilities,enterprises under the constraint of environmental governance tend to green innovation.In view of the above research,this dissertation has the following three aspects of contributions:first,constructs a duopoly model to reveal the influence mechanism of heterogeneous environmental governance on enterprise green innovation,and explains the regulation mechanism of enterprise dynamic capability on the relationship between environmental governance and green innovation;Second,reveals the evolution law of enterprise dynamic capability from the perspective of life cycle,and expounds the adaptive relationship between the components of enterprise dynamic capability and the green innovation behavior of enterprises in different life cycles;Third,based on the life cycle evolution characteristics of enterprise dynamic capabilities,the moderating effects of different dynamic capabilities on the relationship between environmental governance and green innovation are quantitatively identified.
