| ObjectiveThe Sui,Tang and five dynasties were the formative period of Buddhist medicine after it was introduced into China during the Han Dynasty.A large number of Buddhist scriptures and other related documents contain a wealth of medical historical materials and medical ideas,and through a systematic and comprehensive collation and study of these materials,to objectively present the development of Buddhist medicine in China during the Sui,Tang and five dynasties,to explore the unique academic thinking and diagnosis and treatment system of Buddhist medicine,to comb the development and inheritance of Buddhist medicine in the Sui,Tang and five dynasties,and to explore the effective treatment methods of Buddhist medicine,better serve public health.MethodThis thesis takes the documents of Buddhism medicine of Sui,Tang and five dynasties as the research object,and uses the research methods of philology and historiography to collect and systematize the documents.Based on the history of Buddhism in the Sui,Tang and five dynasties,this paper discusses the development of Buddhism in China in the Sui,Tang and five dynasties,and clarifies the background of the development of Buddhist medicine in this period.To collect the medical literature of Sutras translated from Dazheng Xinxiu Dazang Jing,and historical records such as Suishu Jingjizhi and Jiutangshu,as well as the literature of Traditional Chinese medicine related to Buddhism in this period,in order to objectively evaluate the historical status of Buddhist medicine in the Sui,Tang and five dynasties,the relationship between Buddhist medicine and traditional Chinese medicine,and the medical activities of Buddhist monks were explored and discussed.ContentIn the introduction,the definition of Buddhism medicine is introduced,and it is clarified that the evolution of Buddhism medicine since it was introduced into China during the Han dynasty includes two main lines,one is the medical system of Buddhist Sutras and the other is the medical system of Chinese Buddhism.Then it defines the Buddhist medical literature of Sui,Tang and five dynasties,and explains the scope of this paper.Finally,the types of Buddhist medical literature in Sui,Tang and five dynasties are introduced.The first part discusses the development background of Buddhism medicine in Sui,Tang and five dynasties.Among them,the development of Buddhist medicine before the Sui Dynasty,the Han,Wei and six dynasties development of Buddhist medicine for the Sui,Tang and five dynasties laid a solid foundation for the development of Buddhist medicine.The influence of Buddhism on Buddhism in Sui,Tang and five dynasties reflects that the development of Buddhism created a good atmosphere for the development of Buddhism in Sui,Tang and five dynasties.The second part,through the SUI,Tang and five dynasties Chinese translation of Buddhist scriptures in the medical literature,from the aspects of basic theory,diagnosis,therapeutic methods,prescriptions and drugs,therapeutic methods,health care,medical ethics and other aspects,this paper analyzes and discusses the academic thoughts and diagnostic and therapeutic systems of Sutra medicine in the Sui,Tang and five dynasties,in order to outline the historical period of the development of Buddhist medicine system,in-depth understanding of the Buddhist medicine system rich connotation.The article further points out that the medicine of Buddhist Sutra has distinctive characteristics of Buddhist medicine,and summarizes its characteristics.In the third part,according to the records of Buddhist scriptures,historical records,Zhiguai Xiaoshuo,traditional Chinese medicine and so on,the author analyzes that there were two parts in this period:The native monk and the Chinese monk,which showed that the native monk occupied the main position.Furthermore,it further analyzed the medical activities of this period,and divided the medical activities of the medical monks into five parts:Practicing Medicine,writing books,administering medicine,practicing medicine,and spreading medicine,through these analyses to highlight the important role played by the monks in the development of Buddhist medicine.The fourth and fifth part,mainly from the perspective of medical system,diagnosis and treatment,health preservation,discusses the interaction between Buddhism medicine and traditional Chinese medicine,in essence,it includes the discussion and analysis of the influence of the two systems of Buddhist medicine,namely,the medical system of Buddhist Sutras and the medical system of Chinese Buddhism,reflecting the spread of Buddhist medicine in China during the Sui,Tang and five dynasties and its acceptance by the general public,it shows the status and degree of the integration of Buddhism and traditional Chinese medicine in order to explain the important historical position of Buddhism in Sui,Tang and five dynasties.Through these two parts of research,it also shows that Sui,Tang and five dynasties Buddhism medicine not only includes the development of history of India Buddhism medicine,but also involves the reference and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine,it further shows that the SUI,Tang and five dynasties period of Buddhist medicine is the crystallization of the collision of two ideological civilizations.The sixth part summarizes the characteristics of the development of Buddhist medicine in the Sui,Tang and five dynasties through the study of the first five parts,and generalizes them into three points,in the Sui,Tang and five dynasties,the Buddhist medicine had been formed.The Buddhist medicine and the Chinese Buddhist medicine coexisted,and the proportion of the Buddhist medicine was decreasing.ConclusionThrough the above research process,the Sui,Tang and five dynasties Buddhism medicine rich connotation and its influence on Chinese medicine discussion,has highlighted the historical period Buddhism medicine in the Chinese medicine development process to play the important role,it is of practical value in helping to understand the theory of Buddhist Medicine and guiding the clinical practice of medicine.Through the analysis of the mutual influence between Buddhism medicine and traditional Chinese medicine,this paper explains the deep origin between Buddhism medicine and traditional Chinese medicine.To explore the characteristics of the development of Buddhist medicine in Sui,Tang and five dynasties,and to clarify the development of Buddhist medicine in this period for the coexistence of Buddhist medicine and Chinese Buddhism,Chinese Buddhism dominated.The indigenization,secularization and subspecialty phenomenon of Buddhism medicine showed that the development of Buddhism medicine reached a new height in this period.During this period,Buddhist medicine not only comprehensively summarized the achievements of Buddhist medicine in the Han,Wei and six dynasties,but also paved the way for the further development of Buddhist medicine in the Song Dynasty. |
