| Objective: Based on the data of “Jia” before the Tang Dynasty, this paper analyzes the connotation of it,discusses the evolution of its disease names, then summarizes the characteristics of the disease names of the “Jia” in the Qin,Han,Jin-Tang Dynasties;Efforts will also be taken to find out the key to the evolution,to reveal the evolution of the names and the development of the disease by the ancients before the Tang Dynasty. Methods: In this paper,we comprehensively collected the relevant articles of the disease names of “Jia” in various literatures before the Tang Dynasty, and took them as the object of the research.Using the previous research results of bamboo and silk characters and exegesis books,we interpret the words used in the names of diseases. On this basis, using the method of literature research, this paper explains the connotation of the names of “Jia”.Using the method of mutual comparison,we can compare the similarities and differences of the diseases, and understand the evolution of it.By using the synchronic comparison method,we can compare the names of the disease in the same period, and summarize the characteristics of it in each period to find out the reasons for the evolution of the disease names, and to summarize the evolution of it before the Tang Dynasty. Results: The names of “Jia” before the Tang Dynasty were summarized;23 disease names in the Qin and Han Dynasties were analyzed;the "dyspeptic abdominal mass" and "gynecologic abdominal mass " in the Jin-Tang Dynasties were analyzed;the disease names, such as “Jia”,"Zheng","hernia","neoplasia",were compared;the characteristics of the disease names in the Qin,Han and Jin-Tang Dynasties were included and finally the evolution of the pre-Tang disease names was summarized. Conclusion: The Qin and Han Dynasties were the embryonic period of the disease names of “Jia”.At this time, the description of the disease was not standardized, and there were the phenomena of the same name and different diseases, the same disease and different names, the use of disease names, and the replacement of disease names.Overall,it presents a relatively disordered state. In Qin and Han Dynasties, both the name of the disease and its connotation had little influence on the name of the disease in Jin-Tang Dynasties. In the Synopsis of the Golden Chamber, the word “Jia” appeared. The connotation of it was gradually determined, which was a kind of “Jia” disease. The Sui Dynasty’s Treatise on the Causes and Symptoms of Diseases not only determined that the connotation of “Jia” was derived from the fact that the cold temperature was not adjusted, the diet not changed, and the Zang-qi in contact with each other. Those who could be moved were called “Jia”.According to the shape of the block and the cause of disease, the name of the disease was given.Compared with the Qin and Han Dynasties, the nomenclature and classification of the disease in this period have made great progress, and many new disease names have emerged. The medical books in Sui and Tang Dynasties mostly follow the connotation, naming and classification of the disease in the " Treatise on the Causes and Symptoms of Diseases ",and the evolution of the disease name is not obvious. After the Song Dynasty, the names of the disease were simplified, used and enriched. The General Record of Holy Benevolence simplifies the name of the disease, clearly calls it “Jia”.The use of the disease names tends to be simplified. The Peaceful Holy Benevolent Prescriptions and other large-scale official medical books have relatively complete use of the name of “Jia” in Treatise on the Causes and Symptoms of Diseases. The names of the diseases are rich in etiology, pathogenesis and treatment. The gynecologic abdominal mass has been completely described from the Qin and Han Dynasties, which is gradually separated and has its own characteristics of treatment in the Jin-Tang Dynasties. From then on,the number of gynecological monographs gradually increased, and the importance of gynecologic “Jia” gradually increased, which has a great wealth in etiology, pathogenesis and treatment. In modern research, gynecologic “Jia” is mostly related to gynecological tumors. |
