On The Linguistic Thought Of Gadamer's Hermeneutics

This dissertation explores how the hermeneutical experience is conveyed through language and how language becomes the object of ontological hermeneutics in the process of understanding.It is widely accepted that Dilthey transforms hermeneutics from tool to epistemology,while Heidegger further turns it into ontology and combined it with phenomenology.Heidegger employs hermeneutics to the examination of the existentialist links of human being,such as the finity of being,understanding and interpretation,discourse and language,and the major role of practice.Gadamer,on the other hand,starts with understanding and unravels the mystery of seeking the truth of art from the experience of art.His reconstruction highlights the significance of hermeneutics.Gadamer revisits the historical principles of understanding and constructs a hermeneutical experience by building on Heidegger's theory.The defining characteristic of hermeneutics experience is the finity of experience,which corresponds to the finity of hermeneutics being,history and horizon.These limitations determine that human beings must reveal the thing itself through dialogue so as to find the truth.And the dialogue is actually the actual occurrence of the integration of historical consciousness and vision.Dialogue is the actual occurrence of speech.The language herein becomes the medium of hermeneutical experience.It defines the object and process of hermeneutics.The relationship between dialogue and the being helps develop our experience of the world,and this experience and finity also adapt to each other.When it finally becomes a worldview,it also endows us with freedom and transcendence.It functions as a spiritual force.Put it differently,the medieval concept of discourse is examined from the perspective of existence of language and proposes a kind of sacred inner speech.As a result,finity and infinity are unified by inner speech and external speech.Language plays a reconciliatory role by settling contradictions caused by finity.The resolution of contradictions also brings the universality of language,whether language is seen as being that can be understood or viewed as being that cannot be understood.But understanding still calls for hermeneutics.Due to the influence of theology,language and light have the same function.The appearance of light makes the appearance of beauty possible,and beauty and goodness are closely related in ancient Greek philosophy.Thus,goodness leads hermeneutics to practice.In fact,the practice of hermeneutics is characterized by its nature,because hermeneutics lies in understanding,understanding that is the most common and the most fundamental practice activity.Marxist thought also focuses on human practice.Marx stresses that person's natural attribute,social attribute,and spiritual attribute are formed in and shaped by practice.In this regard,we need to grasp the consistency of the two as a unity,and further understand the practical application of hermeneutics.At the same time we find the internal reasons why the two reinforce each other when hermeneutics meets Western Marxism.Finally,we also need to consider the significance and function of hermeneutical language thought for the interpretation of Marxist classical texts.Currently,the construction of Chinese hermeneutics is underway.The linguistic thought of hermeneutics,as the most important part of the theory of ontological hermeneutics,plays an important role in our consideration of issues such as language and existence,language nature and understanding,and the relationship between linguistic dialectics and Marxist dialectics.Based on the above-mentioned,chapters of this dissertation are as follows:The introduction focuses on the background of the problem,preliminary discussion of the background and significance of the topic,a brief summary and literature review,so as to find out their research limitations.The first chapter discusses Heidegger's contributions to hermeneutics in his lifetime.According to the discussion of hermeneutics,it is divided into three stages,and the main viewpoints of each hermeneutics theme are outlined.The second chapter explores how Gadamer builds on heidegger's thinking and Kant's aesthetics as the breakthrough point,makes the understanding as the theme,after the reconstruction of hermeneutic experience.He reshapes You-I relationship and dialogue as the basic pattern,from the hermeneutic experience of limitation as a core concept for the full text.Its main connotation and the language of hermeneutics are also discussed.The third chapter examines how people acquire world experience on the basis of adapting to their own finity,how language reveals things themselves,and how contradictions arise in several opposing views of language or ideas of things.The fourth chapter investigates how the language center mediates the conflict between finity and infinity,which is mainly realized through internal discourse,attribution,dialectics of language,among others.The fifth chapter examines the hermeneutic language universality and practicality,its universality is through understanding and not-understood verbal.It is done by light of metaphysics,metaphysics of beauty,and understanding the practical and beautiful,closely associated with good hermeneutics itself is a practical philosophy.This lays a good foundation for it and the practical philosophy of Marxism,which is also the topic discussed in the last chapter.As a result,the last chapter,from the perspective of the history of the concept of practical philosophy,from a macro grasp of Marx's practical philosophy and the ontological hermeneutics on practice,the consistency between the both of the collision.It then discusses the final issue combined with China's current need.Hermeneutics has implications for the thoughts of Marxism and its classical language text interpretation,And hermeneutics is of importance to to Marxist practical philosophy.
