China has entered a period of an aging society, and the aging process is accelerating.Population aging is an important national condition that China is facing now and even in the long term.Along with the wave of population aging comes the huge demand for medical care for elderly individuals, and the aging population brings challenges to the allocation of medical resources. With the advancement of mobile internet technology, mobile health services based have played a significant role in optimizing service procession and improving the medical experience, which have greatly changed the way people manage their health.Mobile health information systems provide users with information services that are not limited by time and space, improve the coverage of medical and health services, help improve the quality and supply efficiency of medical resources and are an effective means to alleviate the shortage of medical resources in an aging population. Therefore,it is especially important to help elderly users to fully use mobile health information systems.Researches on the usage behavior of mobile health information systems by elderly users have mostly focused on pre-adoption behavior, with insufficient attention to the post-adoption behavior of elderly users. In general, the current researches on post-adoption behavior have the following aspects that need to be improved.First, the prior studies usually consider the information system as a whole as a "technical black box",ignoring the characteristics of users’ use of system functions and the differences in the influence mechanism of continuance intention caused by the nature of different functions.Second, the existing studies on postadoption behavior mainly focus on the intention to continue using the system, and few studies focus on the intention to discontinue using the system, which lacks a mature theoretical framework and propositional assumptions.Third,in terms of research methods, existing studies usually use individual intention as a proxy variable for individual usage behavior, and lack direct prediction studies on individual post-adoption behavior.Based on the above realistic and theoretical background, the present thesis conducts the following four studies.Study 1 focuses on the factors that influence older users’ continuance intention for the basic functions of mobile health information systems.Based on the interaction characteristics with basic functions, this study explores how external variables from different sources of support affect the continuance intention based on the SOR framework, using technology acceptance theory as the theoretical basis and introducing variables involved in social support theory and social cognition theory. In this study,400 sample datapoints were collected by questionnaire method for empirical analysis, and the results found that:(1)there are differences in the effects of different sources of social support on older users’ perception factors;family support, friend support and organizational support can all improve older users’ self-efficacy;family support and organizational support can promote older users’ perceived usefulness;and family support can improve older users’ perceived ease of use;and(2)perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and self-efficacy all significantly affect older users’ willingness to consistently use the basic functions of the mobile health information system.Study 2 focuses on the factors influencing older users’ willingness to consistently use advanced features of mobile health information systems. This study builds a test model with a moderating effect.Based on the theoretical framework of the ELM,this study introduces digital literacy as a moderating variable. In this study,283 sample datapoints were collected by questionnaire method for empirical analysis, and the results found that:(1)both interpersonal-based quality and institution-based quality have significant positive effects on older users’ trust;(2)digital literacy has a positive moderating effect on the central route(interpersonal-based quality)and a negative moderating effect on the peripheral route(institution-based quality);and(3)trust has a significant positive effect on the continuance intention for advanced features of m Health information systems among older users.Study 3 focused on the factors influencing the willingness of elderly users to discontinue the use of advanced features of the m Health information system. In this study, the interview data of elderly users were coded and analyzed using grounded theory, and a theoretical model of willingness to discontinue was constructed with variables, such as perceived threat and health information privacy concerns.Through open coding, axial coding and selective coding,The results found that:(1)negative emotions and aging characteristic factors have a direct impact on older users’ discontinuance intention;(2)negative perception factors, such as user perceived threat, and advanced functional factors influence users’ discontinuance intention by affecting their negative emotions;and(3)policy perception degree affects the negative perception of elderly users.Study 4 focuses on the prediction of post-adoption behavior of older adults for basic and advanced functions of m Health information systems based on machine learning method. This study collected desensitized datapoints of elderly users who used the basic features and the advanced features of We Chat public account, constructed and extracted features based on habit theory.etc.Then,this study trained a support vector machine regression model, back propagation neural network model,Bayesian regression model, random forest regression model, and polynomial regression model, comparing the accuracy of the five algorithms.Furthermore, the feature importance was calculated by the permutation importance method to explain the nonlinear regression model. The results found that:(1)the nonlinear algorithm outperformed the linear algorithm in the model results for the prediction of post-adoption behavior of the basic and advanced features of the mobile health information system for elderly users, and the back propagation neural network model had the best performance;and(2)the predictive role of feature importance of different variables in different features was different due to the nature of the features. This research combines theories in the disciplines of public health and management information systems to study the post-adoption behavior of elderly users of mobile health information systems from a system function perspective, which helps to comprehensively understand the factors influencing elderly users’ continuance intention and discontinuance intention, predict the post-adoption behavior of elderly users for different functions, enrich the understanding of the mechanism of using different functions by elderly users and expand the current information system research on user behavior decision mechanisms.
