| From the very beginning of its establishment, the Chinese Kuomintang has been carrying out various activities abroad for a long time, plotting to set up party affairs organizations all over the world under its firm control.Hong Kong, with its advantageous geographical location and favorable port conditions, attracted the Chinese Kuomintang in its early stage and became one of the Windows for China to receive international aid after the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War.After the victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the Kuomintang reaping the"popularity" in Hong Kong, intending to take advantage of the opportunity to penetrate into the social development of Hong Kong, but this action caused a backlash from the British authorities in Hong Kong.In order to achieve its sinister goal of"Anti-Communist",the Kuomintang chose to suspend its ambitions for Hong Kong in exchange for the Support of the British side to start a civil war. After the war of Liberation, the Kuomintang fled to Taiwan in a panic, but in an attempt to"counterattack the mainland and fight the Communist Party to restore the country",it launched the so-called party affairs reform movement. The kuomintang’s activities in Hong Kong also set off a new climax with the development of "overseas Party affairs revival movement".However,as the battle between the Kuomingtang and the Communist Party spread from the mainland to Hong Kong, the Kuomintang’s persecution of the Chinese Communist Party and the democratic persons became more and more fierce, which made the British authorities in Hong Kong shut down its public political activities in Hong Kong, and the Kuomintang’s provocation against the Chinese Communist Party and the British side in Hong Kong moved from the front to the background. In different historical periods after the war,the Kuomintang managed and adjusted its activities in Hong Kong in response to the changes of internal and external environment. In terms of organizing activities, the Kuomintang set up open or secret organizations in Hong Kong.In different periods from 1945 to 1997,the responsibilities of different organizations were also different, but generally speaking, organizational development changed from open to underground, and organizational power changed from decentralized to centralized. In terms of propaganda activities, the Kuomintang supported newspapers, magazines, books, films and other carriers. Before the 1960s,the Kuomintang acted as an accomplice in organizing the "fighting"activities in Hong Kong, and after that,it launched the "Anti-Communist cultural attack" activities beyond its capacity. In terms of overseas Chinese affairs, the overseas Chinese were the main target of the Kuomintang’s overseas activities, and the key point of the kuomintang’s overseas Chinese affairs in Hong Kong was to instil the "overseas Chinese" to carry out the "Anti-Communist" social movement in Hong Kong. From the victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese aggression to the return of sovereignty,Hong Kong was under British rule.In order to survive in Chinese Hong Kong, the Kuomintang must,in accordance with the changing international environment and the demands of dictatorship, seek common ground and make false promises in Hong Kong. From 1945 to 1997,we can observe the changes of various activities of the Kuomintang in Hong Kong, and we can find that in Hong Kong, the double front of cross-strait confrontation and the Cold War between east and West, the Kuomintang’s carefully planned "Anti-Communist Cause" has gradually become a laughing stock. This change is inextricably linked to the rise and fall of cross-strait forces and the reversal of the international situation. |
