| As one of the mass media,pop music can impart and record the changes of social mentality in a specific period of time.The local consciousness of Hong Kong people in the process of colonization is a very prominent social and cultural phenomenon.The development and changes of pop music in Hong Kong provide us with a perspective to observe and study the local consciousness of Hong Kong people.And this paper attempts to sort out the different stages of Hong Kong pop music,to interpret the text meaning of representative songs with the characteristics of the times and reflecting social phenomena in each stage.The findings are as follows:1.Behind the development of Hong Kong pop music lies the awakening and change of local consciousness of Hong Kong people.Marked by Sandre ’s Cantonese song "Sorrow and Happiness for Karma" in 1974,the local consciousness of Hong Kong people began to appear,which began to be reflected in many Cantonese pop music.2.During the transition duration,a large number of Cantonese pop songs depicting social reality and expressing people’s mentality have emerged in Hong Kong,which fully reflects the concern of pop culture for the micro individuals under the grand narrative.During this period,Hong Kong pop music began to show obvious uneasiness and doubts about "1997",and Hong Kong people’s pursuit of identity was more obvious and political.3.During the period of "post return",the local consciousness of Hong Kong people was distorted due to the interference of post colonial factors.During this period,the identity of Hong Kong people changed and began to differentiate,and the sense of national identity became vague or even declined.At the same time,in order to enhance the sense of national identity,the official force intervened in the field of song creation and released a series of popular songs to stimulate the patriotic feelings of Hong Kong people. |
