Study On Cultural Elderly Care And Subjective Well-being Of The Elderly

The realization of the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects has laid a solid foundation for dealing with problems of the elderly.Under new historical conditions,the spiritual and cultural needs of the elderly are further highlighted,and cultural elderly care has become a focus of attention from all aspects.Cultural elderly care focuses on meeting the spiritual and cultural needs of the elderly.From the perspective of intergenerational relationship and cultural inheritance,cultural elderly care involves inheriting and carrying forward excellent traditional filial piety culture.From the perspective of policy,cultural elderly care is an important idea to solve current social old-age care problems under national strategy to address population aging.So what is cultural elderly care?What is the relationship between it and subjective well-being?How to improve subjective well-being by optimizing related services?This study attempts to explore these questions.Centering on the research theme,this paper comprehensively combs the literature related to cultural elderly care and subjective well-being of the elderly,and finds that existing studies mostly analyze the influence of related content of cultural elderly care on subjective well-being of the elderly,and few studies on the direct relationship between them.Existing studies have shortcomings such as unclear definition of cultural elderly care,lack of in-depth analysis of relationship between it and subjective well-being,and the need to improve relevant research design.In view of these deficiencies,based on the current national conditions of China,this study conducts a theoretical discussion on the relationship between cultural elderly care and subjective well-being of the elderly.On this basis,this study adopts the method of combining quantitative research and qualitative research to analyze the direct influence and influence mechanism of cultural elderly care on subjective well-being of the elderly.And from the aspect of improving subjective well-being,the study puts forward suggestions to the optimization of cultural elderly care policy.This paper first defines the cultural elderly care.The study takes solving the pension problems as the starting point of cultural elderly care research,follows the basic principle of"starting point-realization form-final goal",defines cultural elderly care as the government-led service guarantee to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the elderly and improve the cultural well-being of the elderly.On this basis,this paper further expounds the characteristics(inclusiveness,appropriateness and integration)and basic elements(service goal,subjects and channels)of cultural elderly care services,forming a systematic understanding of cultural elderly care.Aiming at the relationship between cultural elderly care and subjective well-being,this study starts with the relationship between objective and subjective well-being of the goal of cultural elderly care services,and relies on relevant theories such as public goods,feasible ability and subjective well-being to put forward some hypotheses about the direct influence and influence mechanism of cultural elderly care on subjective well-being of the elderly,specifically as follows:The condition of cultural elderly care services directly affects subjective well-being;Service acquisition plays an intermediary role between the condition of cultural elderly care services and subjective well-being of the elderly,while subjective experience plays an intermediary role between service acquisition and subjective well-being of the elderly.Based on author’s field survey of living conditions of the elderly in SD Province and HB Province,this paper collects first-hand data,and analyzes questions through a mixed research method combining quantitative and qualitative research.The main research conclusions are as follows:(1)In terms of the condition of cultural elderly care and subjective well-being of the elderly,this study finds:①The number of children of the elderly is relatively guaranteed and in terms of living arrangement,most of the elderly do not live with their children,but the distance between them is relatively moderate;The number and professionalism of cultural elderly care services provided by pension service institutions need to be further strengthened and on the whole,the coverage of community pension service institutions is relatively low;There are not many activities suitable for or specifically targeted at the elderly provided by public cultural places;Educational institutions for the aged provide cultural elderly care services with a low degree of popularity.②According to the surveyed samples,the overall level of subjective well-being of the elderly has a relatively large room for improvement,with high scores in social confidence experience,family atmosphere experience,self-acceptance experience.The statistical test shows that subjective well-being of the elderly in female,healthy group,living with spouse group,college or above group,high income group is significantly higher than the elderly in male,unhealthy group,not living with spouse group,high school or below group,middle and low income group,while the subjective well-being level of different age groups is not significantly different.(2)In terms of direct influence and influence mechanism of cultural elderly care on subjective well-being of the elderly:The condition of cultural elderly care services has a positive effect on subjective well-being;Service acquisition(emotional communication with children,participation in cultural activities)has a mediating effect on the relationship between the condition of cultural elderly care services and subjective well-being of the elderly;The condition of cultural elderly care services can improve the subjective well-being by increasing service acquisition.Service subjective experience(satisfaction,improvement,need satisfaction)and social subjective experience(social trust,social justice,social belonging)have mediating effects on the relationship between service acquisition and subjective well-being respectively;Services acquisition can improve the subjective well-being by increasing service subjective experience and social subjective experience.Through theoretical discussion and empirical analysis,this paper puts forward suggestions on the optimization of cultural elderly care service policies based on improving subjective well-being of the elderly:First,it can improve the condition of cultural elderly care services by adhering to the government’s leading,improving family policies,strengthening the guarantee of capital investment,service facilities and talent team;Second,it can expand service acquisition to cultural elderly care by encouraging multi-subject participation,carrying forward the excellent traditional filial piety culture,promoting the socialized development of cultural elderly care services;Third,it can enhance subjective experience of the elderly by being demand-oriented,providing service content effectively,integrating service resources effectively.
