| In recent years,there have been frequent occurrences of job burnout and abuse among nursing staff in elderly care institutions.Thus,all sectors of society attach great importance to the quality of nursing services provided by elderly caregivers.Research has shown a significant positive correlation between work engagement and nursing quality,indicating that high-level work engagement leads to high-quality nursing services.In order to gain a deeper understanding of the quality of nursing services in elderly care institutions,this study introduced the variable of work engagement,explored the relationship between gratitude,subjective well-being,and work engagement,and further explored the mediating role of subjective well-being between gratitude and work engagement.This study conducted a questionnaire survey on 513 in-service nursing staff in 12 elderly care institutions in Wuxi,including gender,age,nursing area,number of nursing staff,length of service,education level,and salary.Through differential analysis,Pearson correlation analysis,and AMOS structural equation model data analysis,the results of this study indicate that:(1)The gratitude level of nursing staff in elderly care institutions is slightly lower than the theoretical median.There are significant differences in age,working hours,and training frequency.There were no significant differences in gender,educational level,number of caregivers,nursing area,salary,and length of service.(2)The subjective well-being of nursing staff in elderly care institutions is slightly higher than the theoretical median.There are significant differences in age,length of work,number of caregivers,nursing area,and educational level.There is no significant difference in gender,salary,length of service,or training frequency.(3)The work engagement of nursing staff in elderly care institutions is slightly higher than the theoretical median.Among the three dimensions of work engagement,focus>dedication>vitality.There are significant differences in age,working hours,number of caregivers,educational level,and training frequency.There is no significant difference in gender,length of service,or salary.There are significant differences in the dimension of work engagement and dedication among different nursing regions.(4)There is a significant positive correlation between gratitude,subjective wellbeing,and work engagement among nursing staff in elderly care institutions.Subjective well-being plays a partial mediating role between gratitude and work engagement.This article draws the following conclusions through data analysis results:(1)The gratitude level of nursing staff in elderly care institutions is below average,while their subjective well-being,work engagement,and their three dimensions are above average.(2)Gratitude,subjective well-being and job involvement and the three dimensions are different in different demography variables.(3)There is a significant positive correlation between gratitude,subjective wellbeing,and work engagement among nursing staff in elderly care institutions,as well as the three dimensions.(4)The subjective well-being of nursing staff in elderly care institutions plays a significant part of the mesomeric effect in the relationship between gratitude and work engagement.(5)The improvement of gratitude and subjective well-being has a positive effect on the work engagement of nursing service industry personnel. |
