Research On The Protection Measures Of Wildlife Conservation In Highway Construction Based On The Case

Because of the social and economic development needs, more and more highways are crossing the wildlife nature reserves and the areas where the wildlife is densely distributed, thus affecting the wildlife survival. This usually leads to the fragmentation of wildlife habitat in certain regions. This habitats separation and broken not only speeds up animals in a balanced spatial distribution, which also causes small scope area population direct influence on the local area. Wildlife conservation measures are the key role to lower the environmental impact and ensure wildlife survival on construction of highways caused in the wildlife area.The thesis describes the wildlife protection measures during present highways'construction and aiming to the Qinghai-Tibet highway, through the analysis of on foreign and domestic documents. From 2004 to 2009, wildlife along the Qinghai-Tibet highway were investigated by dynamic monitoring, pinpoint monitoring and interview survey on June and August when Tibetan antelope moved on and move back. Through the investigation for wildlife's resources situation, habitats situation, traffic accidents, wildlife migration influence on Qinghai-Tibet highway and utilization of protection measures by wildlife, which research the relationship between Qinghai-Tibet highway and wildlife and put forward the wildlife protect model based the research material. The result showed that the traffic noise of Qinghai-Tibet highway have the biggest influence on Tibetan Ass, less on Tibetan Antelope, least on Tibetan Gazelle. The peak time and quantities of the Tibetan Antelope move on and move back were advanced and obvious increased which shows the wildlife along the Qinghai-Tibet highway gradually adapt to Qinghai-Tibet highway. Sub-grade flat slope channels and wildlife warning signs also played a certain protective effect in wildlife protection, and slowdown highway sub-grade, set up wildlife warning signs with legal effect along the highway could play a better effect. Overall, the wildlife could habituate themselves to the changes of surroundings owing to the Qinghai-Tibet highway construction by learning and adjusting their behavior.The thesis provides meaningful suggestions for the wildlife conservation along the Qinghai-Tibet highway and during the construction of highways in the future of China, to provides reference for the design and construction of highways departments.
