The expansive polystyrene granule cement latticed concrete wall (EPSC latticed concrete wall for short) is a composite wall which integrates the expansive polystyrene granule cement form and the interior latticed concrete framework together. It has good characteristics of lightweight, thermal insulation, sound insulation, fire resistance, load-bearing and earthquake resistance. Thus, the wall would have a broad application prospects in building constructions. However, the research and application is still in its infancy in China. Two eccentric compression wall tests and four groups of six lateral resistance wall tests are introduced, and the compression strength of the eccentric loaded wall and the lateral resistant performance of the walls with different height-width ratios under constant vertical loads and reciprocating horizontal loads are studied. Typical brittle failures were observed during the eccentric tests, and good deformation ability and energy dissipation capacity were revealed during the lateral tests. The walls with relatively large height-width ratio(>1) showed bending failure limit states at roots and others with lower aspect ratio showed shear failure limit states. The walls could still bear the established vertical loads and keep the wall intact when approaching to the limit state.According to the current specification, the compressive strength of the lattice concrete wall is analyzed. The simplified formula of normal sectional bearing capacity of the concrete lattice column is derived. The excessively conservation is disclosed while comparing the code-based theoretical results considering the concrete lattice column as a plain concrete element to the experimental results, and a suggestion that the structural integrity of the walls should be considered appropriately is given to the calculation. Series of lattice concrete walls are analyzed for lateral strength by finite element program on the basis of experiments. It shows that the aspect ratio, vertical load and reinforcement have an obvious effect on the lateral strength. Based on this, the simplified lateral strength formulas are suggested. The equivalent lateral stiffness formulas are established by two different structure models, thus lay the foundations of simply calculations for the building structures. The outputs of the research provide a technical foundational basis for scheduling related specifications and wide application of such kind of building structure system.
