The research on the propagation properties of electromagnetic waves in reinforced concrete wall provides reference for wireless correspondence, through-wall-surveillance and military reconnaissance, which will be of great theoretic and practical value. In this paper, the finite element method (FEM) is used to study the propagation properties of electromagnetic waves in the infinite reinforced concrete walls with periodic property. Detailed work has been done as follows:1. Use the finite element method and the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method for numerical simulation of surface potential of concrete wall and compare these two methods2. Combine the finite vector method with domain decomposition method, a complex 3D problem is converted to a single 2D one; finally analyze the impact of reinforcement of each sub-domain on electromagnetic wave's propagation.3. Use a method based on iterative finite element of non-overlapping domain decomposition method to analyze the transmission properties of concrete walls and carry out computer simulation.4. Calculate the resonance point of ordinary concrete walls and reinforced concrete wall; through making computer modeling and simulation on reinforced concrete wall with containing periodic structure get the regularity of the shield effectiveness according to the operating frequency change; finally discuss the impact of different aperture shapes of a brick wall on attenuation characteristics of electromagnetic waves and draw useful conclusions.
