Hutouya deposit is located in the southern margin of the Qaidam, Qimantage ore belt of East Kunlun. The tectonic background of this deposit is the arc spreading basin in Carboniferous, Late Paleozoic. With the deepening of the exploration in recent years, the deposit and its surrounding areas are considered to have significant exploration potential. This paper uses the Hutouya and its nearby deposits(such as Kendekeke, Jinren,Beigou and Sijiaoyanggou)as the research object. Based on a large number of references, systematic field investigation and laboratory analysis of rock and mineral geochemistry, the research focused on the regional geological setting and mineralization conditions of the deposit, summed up the mineralization law, discussed the genesis type. The study shows that the mineralization type of Hutouya deposit can be considered as sedimentary exhalative deposit(Sedex deposit). The mineralization occurred in the strata below the seabed, formed with a way of bedding packing and hydraulic mining crack. The deposit patterns are controlled by the synsedimentary faults. Along the synsedimentary faults trend, there are many mineralization centers which make the length of the deposit up to 4 km. Through the rock and mineral identification, chemical analysis, REE and trace element analysis of the representative volcanic rocks and minerals in Hutouya and its peripheral mine areas, we conclude that the volcanic rocks are basically sub-alkaline series with high potassium, with the overall performance of pro-arc rift characteristics; the role of volcanic exhalative mineralization has the characteristics of multi-cycle. Mineral REE and trace element analysis also show that the exhalative mineralization exists, and all of this are consistent with the metallogenic characteristics of Sedex deposit and tectonic environment of back-arc extensional basin. Furthermore, we summarized the mineralization characteristics of Hutouya and its peripheral mine areas:mainly stratabound deposits; mainly back-arc basin mineralization in Hercynian; with multiple layers forming; multi-element mineralization in the main component; with deep to shallow diagenetic mineralization evolution and other features. Finally, we established a regional geological model to study the mineralization law, pointed out the prospecting.
